At Movement Effective Therapy, one of the most powerful tools we use in Pilates is the Reformer.

The Reformer may look simple, but it is an incredibly versatile piece of equipment that allows us to create hundreds of different exercises designed to strengthen, stretch, and support the body. Using a system of springs for resistance, the Reformer helps build strength while also providing support and control, making it ideal for both beginners and those working around injuries.

Because the resistance is adjustable and movements are controlled, the Reformer allows us to target specific muscles, improve core stability, increase flexibility, and support proper alignment. It can challenge advanced clients while also being gentle enough for those recovering from injury or easing back into exercise.

One of the things we love most about the Reformer is how adaptable it is. Exercises can be done lying down, seated, kneeling, or standing, allowing us to customize every session to fit your body and your goals.

Whether you’re looking to build strength, move better, recover from an injury, or simply feel stronger and more balanced, the Reformer helps make it possible.

Pregnancy can make staying active challenging. As your body changes, you may experience back pain, tight hips, pelvic discomfort, or general soreness that makes many traditional workouts feel impossible.

At Movement Effective Therapy, Pilates can be a safe and supportive way to keep moving during pregnancy. Our sessions focus on low impact, controlled movements that help strengthen your core, improve stability, and relieve tension without putting strain on areas that are already uncomfortable.

We work around your problem areas, adjusting each exercise to your body and stage of pregnancy. Many of our clients find that Pilates helps reduce aches and pains while also improving flexibility and mobility.

Pilates can also help prepare your body for birth by improving hip mobility, strengthening supporting muscles, and helping you stay flexible and balanced as your body changes.

If you’re pregnant and struggling to stay active because of discomfort, we’re here to help you move safely and feel better.

Pilates isn’t just the viral videos you see online of people shaking on their toes or doing extreme balance moves. At Movement Effective Therapy, Pilates is about smart, intentional movement that works for your body, especially if you’re dealing with injuries, stiffness, or areas that need extra care.

Our studio focuses on helping people build strength, improve flexibility, and tone muscles with low impact, controlled movements. Many of our clients come to us because traditional workouts aggravate injuries or problem areas. Pilates allows us to target your core and supporting muscles without putting strain where your body can’t tolerate it.

In fact, we can design a workout completely laying down that will still have your abs burning and your muscles working. Every session is tailored to your personal needs, your goals, and what your body can safely do.

If you’ve been curious about Pilates but thought it wasn’t for you, this is the perfect time to try it.

New Client Introductory Offer:
$150 for your first 3 sessions

You can book solo or bring up to 2 friends and experience the benefits together.

Hi, I'm Laise! I just opened a Private Pilates Studio that includes Chiropractic, and Physical Therapy.

I am a Balanced Body® Comprehensive Certified Pilates Instructor who brings both knowledge and heart to my work. I am deeply committed to helping people understand their bodies, move with confidence, and feel supported throughout the process. My teaching is rooted in biomechanics and modern movement science, strengthened by 20 years of experience working in a chiropractic and rehabilitation setting, but what clients feel most is my care, attentiveness, and genuine desire to see them succeed.

I work with a wide variety of clients, from those recovering from injury or managing pain to individuals who simply want to move better, feel stronger, and stay active in their everyday lives. I also work closely with young athletes, helping them build strength, coordination, mobility, and body awareness that not only supports performance but helps protect their bodies for the long term.

With comprehensive training across mat, reformer, tower, chair, barrel, and trapeze, I thoughtfully adapt each session to the person in front of me. Whether someone’s goal is rehabilitation, improved posture, athletic development, or lasting strength, I meet them where they are. My teaching emphasizes alignment, breath, efficiency, and steady, intelligent progress so clients feel challenged but always supported.

I am continuing my education through the Balanced Body® Advanced Movement Principles program, with completion expected in 2026. This advanced training further strengthens my ability to understand how the body functions as a whole, allowing me to bridge corrective exercise, performance training, and sustainable lifelong movement.

At The Met, I work as part of an integrated musculoskeletal care team alongside chiropractic and physical therapy providers. My approach helps clients across the full spectrum of movement needs, from recovery and pain management to performance and daily wellness. My goal is simple: to help people move with more ease, awareness, and confidence both in the studio and in their everyday lives.
