We are loving this Pilates reformer exercise chart… how cool is this?!

So many movements, so many ways to build strength, mobility, and control. It’s a great reminder of just how powerful Pilates can be for your body.

Now the real question… should we get one for the studio? 👀

If you’ve ever been curious about Pilates or want to see how it all works in real life, this weekend is the perfect time to check it out.

Join us for our Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting
📅 This Saturday
🕚 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Come meet the team, tour the space, and get a feel for what Movement Effective Therapy is all about.

We’ll even be doing demos so you can see some of these movements in action.

Come celebrate with us… and maybe help us decide if this chart needs a spot on the wall.

Strength looks different here.

This is focused training, controlled movement, and muscles working together with purpose. Pilates challenges strength in a way many traditional workouts do not, by demanding stability, balance, posture, and total-body control.

In this moment, every rep is building core power, shoulder stability, spinal support, and endurance. No wasted movement, just smart movement.

At The MET: Movement Effective Therapy, we help clients discover that getting stronger does not always mean lifting heavier. Sometimes it means moving better.

When you hear the word Pilates, do you automatically think of women?
Here is something many people do not know, Pilates was actually developed by a man, Joseph Pilates. It was created to build strength, control, mobility, and resilience.

At The MET: Movement Effective Therapy, we see plenty of men in our studio using Pilates to move better, feel stronger, and stay active. It is a highly effective, low-impact training method that can help:
• Build core strength
• Improve flexibility and mobility
• Support posture and balance
• Correct muscular imbalances from lifting or sports
• Reduce aches, stiffness, and injury risk

Whether you are an athlete, lifter, golfer, weekend warrior, or just want to move better, Pilates is for men too.

Strong is smart movement, call to set up a private Pilates class or mini class with up to 4 peers: 443-690-9368

Before Pilates was a trend… it was a mission.

Joseph Pilates, the founder of Pilates, was born in 1883 and spent much of his childhood sick with asthma and other illnesses. Instead of accepting limitations, he dedicated his life to understanding the body and building strength, eventually transforming himself into an athlete.

He believed something powerful… that poor posture, weak muscles, and shallow breathing were at the root of many physical issues, and that the body and mind had to work together for true health.

What he created, originally called “Contrology,” was not just exercise. It was a system designed to improve strength, mobility, balance, and overall function by focusing on the core and intentional movement.

He even developed equipment and methods to help rehabilitate injured individuals, laying the foundation for what we now see in both fitness and physical therapy settings today.

At The MET: Movement Effective Therapy, this is exactly why Pilates is such a powerful part of what we do.

It is not just about working out.
It is about moving better.
Feeling stronger.
Preventing injury.
And building a body that supports you for life.

Joseph Pilates was ahead of his time… and his method continues to help people move with purpose every single day.

Pilates is a safe and effective way to support your body during pregnancy.

It helps strengthen the core and pelvic floor, improve stability, and can even reduce back pain as your body changes. With a focus on controlled movement and breathing, Pilates is beneficial through all trimesters when guided appropriately.

A few simple modifications make all the difference, including avoiding lying flat on your back after the first trimester, limiting deep twists, and using props for added comfort and support.

At The MET: Movement Effective Therapy, we tailor every session to your needs so you can move safely and confidently throughout your pregnancy.

Book a private pregnancy Pilates session or bring a few friends and create your own small group class… pregnant or not.

Let’s keep you strong, supported, and feeling your best.
