🩺📚 Health, Preparedness, and Education in Albuquerque!
Residents at AHEPA 501 I & II Apartments in Albuquerque, New Mexico recently participated in several valuable educational and preventative programs designed to support healthy living and informed decision-making.
🔹 GEHM (Geriatric Education and Health Maintenance) Clinic
Steph, a nurse from the University of New Mexico College of Nursing, hosted the first of several planned health clinics where residents received wellness screenings and personalized health education.
🔹 “Be Red Cross Ready” Preparedness Course
Jaimi Mueller from the American Red Cross led a session focused on extreme weather preparedness and safety strategies to help residents stay informed and protected.
🔹 Medicare 101 Educational Session
Adolfo Guerra from the Senior Health Resource Center and Adrian Montes from Oak Street Health provided helpful information about Medicare, answered residents’ questions, and shared refreshments and educational materials.
Programs like these empower residents with knowledge, support preventive care, and strengthen community connections.
