Parenting in the digital age is no small task.

Our kids are growing up online — learning, connecting, gaming, creating. And while the internet offers incredible opportunities, it also introduces risks that many of us didn’t grow up navigating ourselves.

Cyberbullying.
Online predators.
Inappropriate content.
Scams.
Location sharing.

It can feel overwhelming.

This carousel breaks down simple, practical steps parents can take to help protect their children — from researching apps to building open conversations rooted in trust instead of fear.

Christina OrtizKing Art Therapist works closely with children, teens, and families here at Armonía. She helps parents navigate internet safety, identity development, peer relationships, anxiety, and the emotional challenges that come with growing up online.

If your child has experienced cyberbullying, online harassment, or social media-related anxiety, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

There are moments in life that change you forever.

Kim shares one of those moments in this video — when her son, who has now beaten cancer three times and is thriving at 19, was in the middle of his fight.

In the midst of unimaginable fear, she found something unexpected: gratitude.

Not because the situation was easy.
Not because it wasn’t terrifying.
But because perspective shifted everything.

Kim often talks about how focusing on helping others during that time — leading trauma groups, being present with other women’s pain — allowed her to step outside her own spiral of fear and anchor into the present moment.

That experience deeply shapes how she practices therapy today.

She understands trauma.
She understands survival.
She understands how easy it is to get trapped in your own thoughts.

And she also knows the power of gratitude, service, and connection in healing.

If you’re navigating trauma, addiction recovery, grief, or life-altering hardship, Kim brings both clinical expertise and lived experience to her work.

Caregiving is one of the most selfless roles a person can hold.

It’s beautiful.
It’s meaningful.
And it’s exhausting in ways most people never see.

At the beginning of February, our Armonía team had the honor of volunteering at the Cocktails & Caregivers Self-Care Sunday event. We guided caregivers through intentional, therapeutic exercises designed to help them slow down, breathe, and reconnect with themselves — even if just for a moment.

The testimonial we received reminded us why this work matters so much.

Caregivers pour endlessly into others. But who holds space for them?

At Armonía, we support caregivers navigating burnout, anticipatory grief, complex family dynamics, anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional exhaustion. Whether through talk therapy, somatic work, art therapy, sound healing, breathwork, or yoga, we believe caregivers deserve care too.

If you or someone you love is carrying more than they should have to carry alone, we’re here.

There’s something powerful about beginning the year in community.

In January, Alliom Yoga guided a beautiful evening of sound healing meditation and intuition-led vision board creation. We slowed down, listened inward, and created from a place of clarity — not pressure.

The combination of crystal singing bowls, reflection, and intentional creativity created such a grounded, peaceful energy in the room. It was a reminder that vision isn’t about forcing outcomes — it’s about alignment.

And we’re already looking ahead to what’s next. 🌷

Our next gathering is the Spring Equinox Renewal Evening:

✨ Friday, March 20 | 6:00–8:30 PM
✨ Armonía Life Design | $55

We’ll welcome the new season with:
• A grounding sound healing meditation
• Warm tea & guided journaling
• Creation of your own custom herbal Epsom salt bath soak
• Space to pause, reset, and realign

The equinox reminds us that growth happens in balance — not by force.

If you’d like to join us, email alli@armonia-counseling.com to reserve your spot.

Come as you are. Leave restored. 🌿

“Lead with an open heart, and trust follows.”

Trust isn’t built through perfection or certainty.
It’s built through openness, consistency, and the willingness to meet others with care.

At Armonía, we see this every day — in therapy sessions, healing spaces, and moments where someone finally feels safe enough to soften. When people are met with an open heart, trust has room to grow.

If you’re navigating relationships, transitions, or inner work, you don’t have to do it alone. Support rooted in presence and compassion can make all the difference.

Some of the most important conversations don’t start with words.

As kids grow, their questions about the world — and about themselves — get bigger. And those conversations can feel hard for everyone involved. Kids may not have the language yet, and parents may not always know how to ask or respond.

Art therapy creates a different kind of connection. Through creating, children can express emotions they don’t yet know how to explain. Parents can begin to see what their child is feeling — fear, confusion, curiosity — without pressure, confrontation, or forcing a conversation before they’re ready.

Creating art together can strengthen trust, deepen bonds, and open the door to understanding in a way that feels safer and more natural for kids.

Christina OrtizKing Art Therapist specializes in art therapy for children, teens, and young adults, supporting emotional expression, identity development, and parent–child connection.

Healing doesn’t mean life suddenly becomes easy.

It means your nervous system learns how to hold more steadiness, more freedom, and more joy — even alongside grief or change.

Colleen Daugherty, MS, MA, LMHCA is a trauma-informed therapist at Armonía Counseling who works with adults navigating some of life’s most tender transitions: grief, divorce, emotional abuse, codependency, caregiver stress, and identity shifts.

Colleen’s approach is compassionate, grounded, and deeply respectful of each client’s pace. She believes healing happens in small, meaningful steps — not by pushing through pain, but by gently facing it with support.

She works with:
• Adults healing from emotional or narcissistic abuse
• Individuals experiencing grief, loss, or divorce
• Those struggling with people-pleasing and boundaries
• Adult children caring for aging or chronically ill parents
• LGBTQIA+ individuals seeking affirming care

Her work blends trauma-informed therapy, somatic awareness, mindfulness, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and nervous-system support to help clients reconnect with themselves and move forward with clarity.

If you’re interested in working with Colleen, you’re invited to reach out directly.

Not all love looks like flowers and candlelight.

Sometimes it looks like:
• A partner putting their phone down and really listening
• A friend who checks in without being asked
• A therapist sitting with you in the hard moments without trying to fix them

This Valentine’s Day, we’re reflecting on the kind of love that grounds us. The love built through presence, attunement, and small daily acts of turning toward each other.

In her newest article, Donna explores the Gottman principle of “turning toward,” emotional connection, and what it means to love through presence rather than performance.

If this season feels joyful, complicated, lonely, or somewhere in between, this piece is for you.

Read here:

Explore how small acts of presence create deep connection. Donna Marino shares how attunement, service, and heart-centered leadership ground true love.

The new moon reminds us that growth doesn’t happen all at once.

As Alliom Yoga shares, new moon intention-setting isn’t about flipping a switch or forcing clarity overnight. It’s about honoring the void — the quiet, dark space where something new is beginning to take shape.

With the next new moon arriving on February 17, this is a powerful time to set intentions with patience and trust. Just as the moon gradually grows brighter over the cycle, our intentions unfold through presence, effort, and time.

Practices like sound healing, Reiki, breathwork, and trauma-informed yoga can support this process by calming the nervous system, activating intuition, and creating space for clarity to emerge naturally.

Alli offers private 1:1 and private small group sessions at Armonía Life Design, thoughtfully tailored to support intention-setting, nervous-system regulation, and embodied healing.

As we move through seasons of relationship, care, and connection, this truth becomes clearer and clearer.

Love is often felt most deeply not through advice or explanations, but through being with one another — fully, attentively, without needing to fix or rush.

At Armonía, presence is at the heart of everything we do.
In therapy.
In healing spaces.
In the quiet moments where someone finally feels safe enough to exhale.

Whether you’re navigating relationships, grief, transition, or simply longing to feel more connected — you don’t have to do it alone.

Addiction doesn’t erase who you are — it obscures it.

Kim believes something deeply important: every person is inherently good. Addiction doesn’t change that. What it often does, though, is pull people away from their values, their sense of self, and their belief in their own worth. Over time, that distance can turn into profound self-loathing.

Kim’s work is about guiding people back — back to their inherent goodness, back to self-respect, and back to a sense of integrity that was never truly lost.

She specializes in addiction recovery, trauma healing, and self-worth repair, offering therapy that is compassionate, direct, and rooted in dignity rather than shame.

“For it is in the giving that we receive.” — St. Francis of Assisi

This quote feels especially meaningful in the work we do at Armonía. Day after day, we witness how healing often unfolds not just through individual effort, but through connection, care, and shared humanity.

Giving doesn’t always look grand.
Sometimes it’s listening deeply.
Sometimes it’s holding space.
Sometimes it’s allowing yourself to receive support when you need it most.

At Armonía, we believe healing is reciprocal — what we offer in compassion and presence often returns to us as growth, clarity, and renewed hope.

If you’re seeking support during a season of transition, we’re here to walk alongside you.
