Legacy Hospice

Legacy Hospice At Legacy Hospice you are a person not a patient. We provide care to all age groups during the final stages of life.

You will have an experienced team of physicians, registered nurses, certified nurse aides, medical social workers, counselors, and trained volunteers available to help you and your family manage your illness. Your physician and Legacy will work with you to set up a comprehensive plan of care to manage your symptoms and assess the needs of your family. Your family or another caregiver will be with you, and members of our team will make regular visits to ensure your comfort. A nurse and a physician are on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to give you and your family support and care when you need it.

November marks National Care at Home Month, a time to recognize the incredible work being done to bring comfort, dignity, and support into the homes of patients and families. Hospice and palliative care are more than medical support; it is emotional, spiritual, and family-centered care that meets people where they are, helping them make the most of every day. We come to you wherever you call home, including private residences, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities.

Throughout this month, we will highlight the people, programs, and resources that make care at home possible and celebrate the compassion that touches lives in the most meaningful way.

Today is National Stroke Awareness Day, an important reminder of the impact strokes have on individuals and families. For patients living with the long-term effects of a stroke, hospice care offers support that focuses on comfort, dignity, and quality of life. Our team helps manage symptoms such as pain, mobility challenges, and communication difficulties while also providing emotional and spiritual care for both patients and their loved ones. On this day, we recognize the strength of stroke survivors and the families who support them.

Occupational therapy empowers people to live with dignity, independence, and purpose. On World Occupational Therapy Day, we honor the therapists who help patients adapt, regain skills, and continue to do the things that bring them joy. In hospice, OTs can make a meaningful difference in comfort and quality of life.

Spiritual support is a cornerstone of hospice care. During National Spiritual Care Week, we celebrate our chaplains and spiritual counselors who walk alongside patients and families, offering comfort, prayer, and presence during some of life’s most tender moments. Whether through words of encouragement, listening ears, or shared prayer, spiritual care brings peace and hope when it’s needed most.
