Residents at St. Dominic Villa know how to celebrate! As part of Nursing Home Week, residents performed at Skit Day, complete with costumes and show tunes. A great turnout and fun time was enjoyed by all!

The Marquardt is proud to host Alisha from Healing Harmonies Music and Art Therapy for weekly and biweekly music therapy sessions that bring connection and joy to our residents.

Music therapy is a meaningful therapeutic tool that supports emotional wellness, cognitive engagement, physical movement, and social connection for seniors. During each session, residents actively participate using a variety of musical instruments, sing along, and use items such as scarves or bubbles to stimulate the mind and encourage interaction.

Through familiar songs, rhythm, and sensory experiences, residents are encouraged to express themselves, reconnect with memories, reduce stress, and engage with those around them. The smiles, laughter, and participation seen throughout these sessions are beautiful reminders of the healing power music can have at every stage of life.

Congratulations to the inaugural graduates of the Illuminus K.E.Y. Foundations Emerging Leadership Program!

Developed by the Illuminus Institute, the K.E.Y. Foundations Program equips emerging leaders with the skills and confidence to grow personally and professionally while emphasizing communication, accountability, collaboration, trust-building, and the power of “leading from anywhere.”

Last week, Illuminus President Ken Smith joined the final session to recognize this outstanding first cohort and present certificates of completion. We’re incredibly proud of all they’ve accomplished and excited to see how they continue to lead and inspire across our organization.
