Our CEO and other hospital leaders spread extra holiday cheer today by surprising patients, staff and visitors with a hot chocolate and cookie cart.

After being diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome in November 2024 and facing a prolonged hospitalization, Debbie came to Encompass Health Fitchburg in March 2025 to rebuild her strength and improve her mobility.

She worked tirelessly and continued therapy after discharge, making remarkable strides in her recovery. Debbie was even able to return home at the end of May!

Recently, she stopped by to visit her former therapy team and show off her incredible progress. Thank you for coming back to see us, Debbie — we are so proud of your hard work and the progress you’ve achieved!

Encompass Health Fitchburg held its second DAISY Award ceremony at the end of September, honoring Michael Parrish as the DAISY Award recipient. Congratulations, Michael, and thank you for the compassionate care you provide to our patients.

DAISY Award honorees are nurses nominated by a patient, family member or coworker and selected by a committee for their exceptional care. Honorees are recognized during a special ceremony and receive a certificate in a portfolio, a Healer’s Touch sculpture, an honoree pin, a gift bag, cinnamon rolls to share with their unit and a banner displayed in celebration. They are also registered on the DAISY Foundation website and featured on a personalized spotlight page.
