So much has changed these past few months in the way we do everything. Curbside shopping trips. Eating out by ordering in. Socializing via Zoom. The list goes on.

Receiving our healthcare virtually via Telehealth is among the changes. Something I’d done in my practice only a few times prior to March, virtual sessions instantly became the only way I could continue to work with clients.

Now a few months in, I gotta say - I’m delightfully amazed at how well this whole Telehealth thing works! I’m profoundly grateful I’ve been able to continue to serve my clients during this time of unprecedented upheaval and change.

Looking ahead to the remainder of 2020 (and maybe into 2021??) I’m actually excited to see how else Telehealth will help improve access to therapy, giving even more people the opportunity to experience improved mental health and emotional healing while remaining safely at home.

With all of the recent changes, I’m excited to announce two things:

1) Today I am sharing my new logo, beautifully created by Annie Kubena Creative, LLC (thank you, Annie!). Originally commissioned before the world got turned on its head, it seems even more fitting to launch it now as a symbol of hope for our collective future.

2) While we’ve all been social distancing, I have very intentionally sought out and received training in Brainspotting, which is an amazing therapeutic intervention that effectively treats past traumas and helps us process other difficult emotions and experiences. Please stay tuned to this page - I plan to share much more info about this in the coming weeks.

For now - please stay safe! And if you or someone you know is needing emotional support, contact me today.

If you had told me a month ago that we'd all be sheltering in place and practicing social distancing - -

That I'd be working from my new "home office" (actually a teeny corner of our spare room) and seeing clients virtually - -

Nope! I would not have believed you.

But you would have been 100% correct. Because we are. And I am.

These new norms (that feel SO not normal) have many of us feeling scared and anxious.

If this is you, there are two things I want you to know:
1) It's perfectly normal to feel that way right now.
2) You are not alone.

Even as we are social distancing, we can be/stay connected virtually and support one another. In fact, there's probably never been a better time to learn effective and life-long coping strategies!

It IS possible to better cope with these new norms that are filled with uncertainty. Give your fear and anxiety an outlet. Call me for a free, no obligation, virtual consultation. I can't wait to see if I can help. :)

Greetings from my home office! (Currently my living room couch.) :)

My sincere hope is that you and your loved ones are healthy and staying safe during our current “Safer at Home” order.

Understandably, this new “normal” has created increased stress, anxiety, and depression for many. Please reach out if you would benefit from emotional support, coping strategies, and tools for depression/anxiety management. I’m actively accepting new clients virtually (phone or video sessions) and always offer a free, 30-minute consultation. Call and schedule yours today.

(Some insurance accepted including Out of Network options. Out of pocket savings available.)

Have you ever been afraid to say what’s really on your mind for fear of sounding [ahem] “b*tchy?”

Me too.

I find it’s a pretty common theme among women, actually.

Unfortunately, the result of always keeping things inside is often feelings of sadness, self-doubt, resentment, or lack of self-worth.

Not a healthy emotional equation.

So. If you have ever been that person to “take the high road” or “swallow your feelings” in order to be perceived as “nice,” I’d like to encourage you to try a new tact.

Speak Your Truth.

It may not make you popular.

It may be terrifying to do so.

People might think you’re a (you know what).

Speak it anyway.

Your feelings and ideas are valid, and your emotional health is of paramount importance.

(BTW - if this idea gives you a knot in your stomach, don’t worry, you're not alone! Give me a call - I’m here to help.)

I am officially in LOVE with today's warm sunshine minus last week's crazy humidity. For an instant mood booster, take a 10-minute break, step outside, find a sunny spot, breathe deeply. Ahhhhh.... ☀️🌞☀️🌞

Office move complete! It's been fun getting settled into our new space and even MORE fun getting to share it with our clients. I snapped a few pictures quick before leaving last week - take a peek!

You deserve to feel good about yourself.

Yes, you do.

No really, I mean it.

I know - sometimes that negative self-talk can get a little too loud.

It's OK to tell it to shut up.

No really, it's really OK.

Yeah, it does feel strange at first, but go ahead and give it a try.

Feels pretty good, right?

Keep practicing. It gets easier every time.
