❤️ It's a Candy Cane Journey... 🤍
'Tis the season to eat candy canes! The Highlands enjoyed an afternoon of crazy games (snow ball bump, jingle bell pong, egg on the cane, candy cane tail grab), carols and candy cane fun! The laughter was contagious, and the spirit of the holidays was all around! 🎄

On Friday, The Highlands spread holiday joy with gingerbread! ❤️ 💚 Cookies were baked, houses were decorated, sundaes were eaten, and Gingerbread Ladies were all around! 😋

🎄 It was a Nutcracker "Sweet" Time! The Highlands Garden Terrace Community hosted a Nutcracker Pancake Party. The Nutcracker Ballet 🩰 was playing, and special pancakes 🥞 were made and served as we traveled with the Nutcracker and Clara into the Land of the Sweets. 🍬

The Highlands is proud to announce the WITATS winner for November is our SLP Leslie Sudak! 🎉

🩷 Leslie has made it her mission to bring happiness to the residents of our 3rd floor Dementia Unit. For example, Leslie has gone above and beyond to ensure the resident's care plan has improved her weight and meal intake. Leslie also bought the resident a new baby doll 👶 for her birthday along with a HAPPY BIRTHDAY banner. Leslie has even gone a step further by bringing in a baby carrier so the doll can sit up next to the resident so she can focus on her meals. Leslie is dedicated to her profession and displays genuine love and care for our residents.

"Santa, I know him!" 🧝🎅 We celebrated the Christmas Classic film "Elf" today at The Highlands. In true Buddy-the-Elf style, we made Elf cookies based on his favorite breakfast: spaghetti, candy, marshmallows, maple syrup, chocolate syrup, Pop Tarts and sprinkles (we used chow mein noodles in place of spaghetti). 😂 Watched the film, sang along and embraced our inner Buddy Elf with an Elf quote photo shoot! 📸
