The Highlands held our Second Annual Scarecrow Festival on Friday! Residents were treated to a scarecrow-themed snack wagon complete with Scarecrow Crunch and Apple Cider. 😋

The winner of our 2025 Scarecrow contest was announced, and congratulations to our second-floor residents and activity team for taking first place. 🥇 We want to thank everyone who entered a scarecrow – they were all fantastic! The day was a blast for all!

Scarecrows and More Scarecrows 😁
Our residents were so touched to receive an entry into our Scarecrow Contest by Mrs. Majewski's second grade classroom at Crocker Elementary School. Each student created a scarecrow with its own personality and style to make a fabulous Pot of Scarecrows for all to enjoy! 🥰✂️✏️

🧛‍♂️ While Gomez, Wednesday, Pugsley and Uncle Fester were off visiting Nevermore Academy, Morticia hosted a luncheon for The Highlands. Lurch made the most amazing meal of "Roadkill Meatloaf Foot" (meatloaf and gravy), "Zombie Intestines" (zucchini zoodles), "Skulls of Yesteryear" (baked potatoes) and "Graveyard Delight" (dirt cake). 😮

All was served on fine china with "champagne". 🥂 It was fabulously macabre and grotesque time! Too bad we just couldn't locate Thing!

The 2nd Annual Scarecrow Festival at The Highlands is revving up! 🎃🍂 Scarecrows are arriving daily to spread the fall spirit and a few laughs too. 😄

Don't forget to enter your scarecrow! Scarecrows are due no later than October 15th. Voting will occur October 16th, and the winner will be announced on October 17th at our Scarecrow Party. 🎉First place will receive a Halloween-themed basket focused on classic and new horror films trivia, coloring and more! 🖍️
