Late post but fun was had for our Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras celebration. We kicked the party off with playing a group Left/Right game and then we made good use of our balconies where staff took part in tossing beads & candy down to Residents while 🎶The Saints Go Marching In (New Orleans style)🎶 blasted for a fun and festive feel 🎺🥁🎷 and we finished the revelry off with King Cake from Dutch Kitchen!

We had a lovely visit, “coffee & conversation” with Mayor Squailia this morning. Our Residents had many questions, shared their concerns and gave affirmations, as they felt comfortable to be able to have a good chat in an intimate setting of our café, among friends and with such a friendly and approachable leader of Fitchburg! 2 of these people went to the new Elvis Presley In Concert, “EPIC” movie at Leominster Luxury Cinemas as big Elvis fans (hint: the 2 on the left wearing pink! 😉) HOWEVER, the “2 others” were clapping the loudest and longest after each big number through the movie! 😄 It’s safe to say that all 4 of us left as fans with a whole new appreciation for The King of Rock & Roll and the love he had for all types of music, the creativity and thoughtfulness he put into creating his Vegas shows and the energy he gave on & off stage. Also, the pureness of his voice even after a grueling Vegas schedule! Elvis the man & the musician was featured, not just the performer. We all left the theater so happy to have seen the film and with a pep in our step, thankful for a fun afternoon with great company! 10/10 recommend seeing EPIC! 😎🎶⚡️🕺🏻

Celebrating our MVP, Tom, for National Maintenance Worker Appreciation Day!! 🥳 Give Tom a pat on the back next time you see him, especially after the winter we’ve had on top of his regular workload. Tom does all his services with a smile and has a kind, gentle and fun way with with our Residents here. Thank you for always being there for all of us, Tom, you truly are appreciated not just today (yes he had just come in from plowing the parking lot here! 😅) but EVERY day!

A big thank you goes out to our recent guest speak, David Thibeault-Munoz, Founder of The Fitchburg Abolitionist Park, for coming in to give a talk about the history of abolitionism in our area and for information on the park. The program was well received with happy Residents having learned more information of an important period of time and history. We thought it would be special to honor Black History Month with this program. We are certainly looking forward to visiting the park when the snow melts and temperatures are a bit warmer. Thank you again to David for his time and expertise!!

What fun we had playing an afternoon game of, “$how Me The Money!”…the playful chime of the “I’m waiiiitiiiingg” adds to the suspense and it makes for some good old fashioned fun! What a beautiful day for this fun bunch to take a lunch trip out to The Old Mill! We all enjoyed delicious meals and had great service, as well. We shared stories, memories & laughs the whole time. Valentine’s Day started early in the week with card making in time to send/give to loved ones and the creativity was wonderful! 💌 We were one of the stops for Jenn’s Lofty balloon and event decor Valentine’s community delivery for Seniors and that was so special, we thank her for her thoughtfulness 💝 We ended the week with a surprise Valentine wall for all the Residents and Happy Hour with some music of Frank Sinatra & friends. It was a “lovely” week 💕
