Equine First Aid workshop led by AZ Equine First Aid this weekend. What an awesome workshop! And thank you and donors, AZ Community Foundation of Flagstaff, the Lyons Family Foundation, and the NAH Office of Philanthropy for supporting our work and making it possible for us to host the workshop and provide free spots for our veterans.

For Days That Feel Heavier

For days that carry the weight of memory, sorrow or reflection.

Horses, Heroes and Hope is holding space — for grief, for gratitude, for the experiences that shape us, and the emotions that rise without warning.

On this September 11th, and on all days...
We see you.
We remember with you.
We feel it.

Whatever this date stirs in you — pause, breathe, reflect.

With honor and compassion, we stand with you.

💜September is Su***de Awareness Month 💜

Horses, Heroes & Hope is here to remind you that even after the worst storms, there is still light and beauty.

🐎 When we stand together—in courage, in compassion, and in community—we can carry each other through the darkest days.

Behind the silent struggles are stories of courage, pain, and resilience. Many of our veterans, first responders, and trauma survivors carry burdens too heavy to bear alone. We are here to offer healing through the powerful connection between humans and horses. 🐎

💬 This month especially, we encourage open conversations about mental health. Ask. Listen. Support. Share resources. You never know who may need it.

🌿 If you or someone you love is struggling, know this: you are not alone. There is help. There is hope. And there is healing.

Together, we ride through the storm.

The Power of Purpose

We recently received a generous grant from the Arizona Community Foundation of Flagstaff to support meaningful volunteer opportunities for our community that offer healing and collective support.

This program has already made such a difference—and we wanted to share just a few snapshots of the impact it's having.

Some of our most dedicated and inspiring participants are seniors. Whether it’s brushing a horse, hand-walking, helping with chores, or simply offering a kind word, their presence brings something special to every corner of the barn.

Hands-on volunteering gives our elder community members the chance to stay active, connected, and purposeful—and the horses feel it too.

Because volunteering isn’t just about giving—it’s about belonging. Everyone, at every age, deserves a place where their presence matters. We’re honored to be that place for so many.

To the seniors who show up with open hearts and capable hands: thank you. You make a difference—every single day.

What do we do when it's so hot outside? Wash horses, of course.
