I find some posts very thought provoking. In responding to a post of, “What you should have learned by age 40,” regarding a list, where the word family was being argued over, I had this thought I want to share with my Facebook family.

The family you create is expressing your actions in the building of a family type relationship.

The family you came from is expressing your environmental upbringing.

In this since, the family you create can also be the family you came from.

It could also be a completely different group of people that live and support each other as one would expect, or imagine, a family should be.

You can have more than one family you belong to (they claim you), or that you claim, as family.

Your past experiences initially create your current perspective.

Your current perspective creates your current reality.

Your perspective and reality are controlled by your desire to keep it or to change it. Experiences only contribute to the initial thought process.

This all is part of the victim versus creator mindset.

This post isn’t to invalidate your experiences or feelings. Those experiences and feelings are real and a part of you - good or bad.

This post is referring to your unique power and ability to control your reality (your perspectives in life) by managing your experiences and feelings.

Either mindset you choose to have, requires effort to develop and maintain.

If both were considered wolves, you choose which pack of wolves to feed (referring to the wolves story).

I think many, if not the majority, of us really have no idea how powerful we really are. (I know I often forget this.)

We can choose to allow the world to dictate who and what we are, as well as what our abilities and potential can be, or we can explore our inner world and discover who we really are - a truly powerful and amazing being.

Today, I have a request for all of my facebook friends and those I claim as family.

Regardless of your experiences throughout the day, recognize and tell yourself that you are powerful and amazing - because, in fact, you truly are.

You are loved, appreciated and accepted, just because you, are you.

You have no requirement to be loved, appreciated and accepted. For you, to believe that you are, does require your acceptance, that it’s true.

It’s is yours’ to choose.

Now go, an have an amazing day today!

(If you choose to that is, because I’m not telling you what to do. 😉)

ATTENTION TO THOSE IN FLAGSTAFF (and northern Arizona). It’s not often that Arizona Digital Motion X-Ray is in Flagstaff.

This week, I will be performing DMX studies in Flagstaff and in north phoenix. The Mobil lab will be located at my office location.

If you have been considering getting a DMX done to determine spinal instability (that is often missed on most imaging), and would like to avoid driving down to the Valley, contact me ASAP. I have very limited space available for these studies.

Those that should seriously consider getting a DMX of the cervical spine are those involved in an auto accident ( we accept case liens so you don’t have to pay until your case settles) and those with joint hyper mobility in the cervical spine causing cardiovascular or respiratory or neurological symptoms, (especially with certain neck positions).

Most patients that have had previous negative imaging and told, “there is nothing wrong,” were found to have Motion related disorders ( restrictions or instabilities) when a DMX was used to evaluate them.

Better than MRI and CT for detecting motion related pain and dysfunction. Injuries occur in motion and cause pain in motion. Alteration of motion segment integrity (AOMSI) is found in motion. This is why you need Arizona Digital Motion X-Ray!

Many of you already know that Dr. Lee is in Flagstaff every other week. On the off weeks, Dr. Lee operates Arizona Digital Motion X-ray (AZDMX) down in the valley. Digital Motion X-ray (DMX) is becoming significantly more popular with regenerative therapy providers as recent studies have shown the DMX to be superior in finding and assessing spinal instability. We expect this growth to become exponential as each month, more providers are discovering the benefits of utilizing our services in their practice.

Now that we are all starting to peak our heads out the door and make plans on venturing outside of our vegetative state, I’d like to suggest you go to your chiropractor and get an adjustment. Now of course, hopefully that’s me. Even if it’s not, I highly recommend it.

I will predict that you will not only feel physically better (being able to move with less stiffness or pain), but you will also have more sense of optimal wellbeing.

I believe it’s one of the best things you can do for your body. In fact, I believe it so much that I’m not just a chiropractor. I’m a chiropractic patient! I just received my adjustment today and man, I feel good!!!

If you are injured or experiencing severe pain or have complications, chiropractic can still help. Methods used and frequency of treatments will vary, but in the end, your body will thank you for it. To: All the friends, patients, and patrons of Cedar Health Center and Arizona Digital Motion X-ray.

I am sure by now that you have been bombarded with COVID-19 updates by every company that you have ever done business with. Unfortunately, most of these have only been talking about ways for avoiding the virus, (washing hands, cough or sneeze in elbows, avoid shaking hands, etc).

This is only half of the equation. I would like to add to it the other side of this equation with the hopes that you will find peace and encouragement with my addition.

I believe, what I am calling, the “Panic-demic” could have a far more damaging effect than the COVID-19 pandemic ever will. Federal, state and local leaders are doing their best to mitigate the spread to this virus. While the risk is low, the ability of this virus to spread is what has caused the concern and the reasons for the decisions leading to social distancing.

Diseases will come and go. This virus is not new in the sense of health calamities that the human race has before or will in the future face.

During the days of the bubonic (black) plague, there were those taking care of the plague victims that didn’t get sick. Why? Their immune systems were strong.

They did things to strengthen their immune system.
There are some things I would like to present to you for your consideration while making decisions pertinent to your health and protection.

Before I do, however, I would like to mention one risk avoidance strategy that I have not yet seen anyone mention. I personally think that this one thing is probably the most overlooked essential step to decreasing risk, especially RIGHT NOW!

Stress is the silent killer. It weakens the immune system, causes irrational decisions. When we are in a state of panic, we are stressed. When we witness others panicking, we are stressed. When we find we cannot get needed supplies like toilet paper, we are stressed.

Here is the list of improving your health so that you can weather this virus storm.

1) Decrease your stress and worry. I know this can be challenging in light of all that is happening. Here are some effective ways to do that.
a) Limit exposure time to negative news or social media posts.
b) Spend time with just you. Meditate, pray, and listen to relaxing music.
c) Watch uplifting movies and avoid highly stressful movies.
d) Read good books
e) Continue to get your chiropractic adjustments, they are short visits that can
greatly reduce stress and help the body relax and perform its functions
better. Massage takes longer, but helps with relaxation even more.
f) Get outside. This does not mean be around people. It could be a balcony, a back yard, anything away from people that can still give you fresh air and sun.
2) Take supplements that have been shown to boost the immune system. Call for a phone consult.
3) Eat good foods that help strengthen the immune system. (fruits, vegetables, etc.)
4) Avoid foods that stress the immune system. (sugar, alcohol, etc.)
5) Perform light stretches and exercise to your ability
6) Take more slow and deep breaths and exhale through the mouth.
7) Get proper rest, but avoid over sleeping.

I’m sure there is even more, but these are a great start to improving your health safety net.

We will continue to stay open to give everyone a chance to improve their health and decrease their stress. We have stepped up our sanitation efforts as well as spacing patient visits out in order to minimize social crowding. In order to be successful in our efforts to provide you with safe effective treatments, we need your help with the following:

1) Please do not come in if you are sick. Our office is not equipped to handle sickness at this time. We will turn you away.

2) You can call our office and have a phone consultation with Dr. Cooke if you are needing prescription or supplement services. You can have someone pick them up for you, or for additional fees, we can mail them to you. We can take your payment over the phone for the consultations and supplies. You will still have to go to the pharmacy for your prescriptions.

3) If you need to cancel, please give us as much notice as possible. We are working on limited schedules and a, “no show” visit will prevent someone else from treatment and hinder the providers abilities to see people.”

As we work together and not panic, this virus shall become a thing of past and we all shall return to normal, and hopefully continue the healthy steps we have been taking to avoid, prevent and decrease these communicable risks.

The most overlooked benefit of a Chiropractic adjustment is freedom.

Most patients we see come in for pain relief from an over irritated muscle or nerve due to joints that not performing properly. Many are amazed when we find that their lower back pain is coming from their knees, shoulders, and other places.

The reason for this is it is nearly impossible to use any muscle in your body without incorporating muscles throughout your body to perform that one action.

Try this: Place your fingers lightly on the back of your neck, just enough to feel muscles contract if you start to move your neck. Now, while not moving your neck, lift up your leg or bend your torso. Could you feel your neck muscles contract anyway? This is normal. Your body literally uses every muscle in some part to perform any action.

If any joint in your body is not moving within its full range or is moving with un-necessary resistance, other areas have to work harder. THIS RESULTS IN LESS STAMINA AND LESS STRENGTH!

This is the secret to success for those in sports, body building, and for those that want to outperform in the work place.

An upper rib joint not moving properly can simply present as an almost unrecognized mild shoulder stiffness or could be as severe to catch your breath when you breathe. Assuming that its just making the shoulder a little stiff, do you think that stiffness is robbing you of strength, stamina, or performance? It is robbing you and eventually it pays you back with pain.

Test yourself while you read this. Can you equally move both your arms and legs equally in range of motion and in ability? Turn your head right and left, up and down, do they move equally?

Can you take an easy full breath? When you get out of a chair, can you get up freely or does your body grab somewhere, like the small of your back, when you do?

This is just one of the many benefits of receiving a chiropractic adjustment when you are NOT in pain

While suffering in pain is a loss of freedom to do the things you enjoy, you don't have to be in pain, to start losing your body's freedom.

So if you can notice less stamina, less strength, less motion or more stiffness, then call us and get an appointment so that you can regain the freedom you could be enjoying right now.
