If Congress fails to pass funding legislation, the federal government will shut down after January 30. This will disrupt nonessential functions across some federal agencies and cause a lapse in Medicare Part B telehealth authority for audiologists and SLPs.
The House has passed legislation that includes a two-year extension of telehealth authority, but the Senate has yet to vote. With other issues potentially slowing Senate passage, we are at risk for a partial or full government shut down. Learn more about how this may impact audiologists and SLPs and join us in taking action for telehealth: https://at.asha.org/Tq

As December rolls around, toy marketers go into overdrive to convince parents that their ultra-high-tech beeping flashing Bluetooth-activated contraption will boost children’s development. But there’s actually a good amount of data to back up quite the opposite!
Parents of children with developmental delays may be especially susceptible to this type of marketing, so we can play a role in educating parents about how to be smart toy consumers.
BTW: All the tips in this research review are equally relevant to us clinicians stocking our therapy closets and planning our sessions!
Check out our FREE review, "Toy time!" to learn more about toys and development. Plus, grab the parent handout (English and Spanish versions!) at https://www.theinformedslp.com/review/toy-time

Dynamic Interventions of Arizona, LLC has been in business since 2008 and is locally owned and operated by three practicing Speech-Language Pathologists. We provide high quality, affordable and efficient Speech-Language Pathology services to public education and state government agencies throughout Arizona.
Elizabeth Morrison, Liberty Hanson and Mckenzye Anderson are all long-time residents of Flagstaff and have practiced in Flagstaff and the surrounding communities for nearly 20 years. We have extensive knowledge of the cultures and people native to Northern Arizona and its communities, including the Navajo Nation and Hopi Reservations. We regularly travel to remote and rural areas of Northern Arizona to provide services for children and adults with disabilities. We are deeply ingrained in the Flagstaff community including Northern Arizona University. We serve as Clinical Educators for the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program where we educate and mentor graduate level clinicians in our field.
Dynamic Interventions of Arizona, LLC holds contracts with numerous small and large school districts throughout Northern Arizona. Our primary focus in each district we serve is to provide services that best meet the needs of the students while minimizing the cost impact to the district. We employ a variety of service delivery models to accomplish this goal including team teaching, classroom based inclusive services, collaborative consultation, curriculum support, and direct pull out services. We believe that the use of a variety of service delivery models allows us to plan intervention and services to meet individual needs of students, to collaborate with other educational professionals, and to maximize effectiveness of therapy services with students.
Many of our nationally certified Speech-Language Pathologists specialize in Assistive Technology and Augmentative and Alternative Communication for individuals with special needs. All of our Speech-Language Pathologists hold Certificates of Clinical Competency (CCC) from the American Speech/Language Hearing Association, are licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services to practice speech/language pathology, and hold Standard Speech-Language Pathologist PreK-12 certificates from the Arizona Department of Education. We have over 40 years of combined experience in multiple settings including public education agencies, state government agencies and private clinics. We are familiar with the IDEA and Americans with Disabilities Act laws and strive to maintain best practices when making decisions for the individuals whom we serve.
