A large study out of Edinburgh identifies a common genetic link in ME/CFS. Although genetics does not explain ME/CFS in its entirety it does add a possible puzzle piece to what causes ME/CFS and other post-infectious diseases.

The CDC has released an update on Long Covid, nothing new from those who have ME/CFS or Long Covid. This article may be of help for those of you that have medical providers that are gaslighting you, don't believe you and your symptoms or just don't know the basic symptoms of Long Covid.

Scientists are finding an increased risk of ME/CFS after SARS-CoV-2 in people up to 4 years after their infection.

Sjögren’s Syndrome (SS) is not one of the most common comorbidities but it does show up frequently with MECFS. SS is considered an autoimmune disorder with many of the common symptoms such as fatigue and neurological problems that also come with MECFS and it's comorbidities. Medications long used for other illnesses are being tested for effectiveness in Long Covid and ME/CFS. Currently the GLP-1 RA agonists are all the rage, previously used for weight loss and diabetes are showing promise. This class of drugs is demonstrating improvement in MCAS symptoms, neurocognitive , coagulation and cardiometabolic disorders, and other symptoms found with Long Covid and ME/CFS.

As in many of the problems in LC and ME/CFS there are subsets of the diseases with varying symptoms. Dr Kaufman emphasizes "that the results are not uniform – as always, it’s a subset that responds".

GLP-1 agonists like Ozempic could be surprisingly helpful in diseases like chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia and long COVID.
