Flagstaff Sports Massage is seeking (one) massage therapist to help support local colligate level athletes. 1 day a week, 2 hours per day, for a month. That's 4 sessions, 2 hours each.

The chosen candidate will be supporting some really bad ass ladies in reaching their goals. It's a good supplement, it's good cash, and great experience. FSM hands you money for showing up, taking time out of your busy schedule, and doing great work.

We are a team, and there are parameters you must adhere to. This includes, but is not limited to: not working beyond your scope, don't contest the diagnosis of the athletic trainer, leave the ego at the door, and don't be a pervert. Another important element is to show up, someone who can follow through on their commitments. For many athletic massage therapists that is not a tall order. That's the therapists we want. Many of our therapists have been in it for the long game, that's also what we want.

Therapist must be currently certified and licensed in the state of Arizona and provide proof of liability insurance with at least $2 million per occurrence, $6 million annual aggregate coverage.

Just got off the phone with Judy Mattes, Aaron is doing really well! He's at home, resting!! Can you believe it!? First time for everything I suppose. Supper happy to be using his work, "Active Isolated Stretching and Strengthening", with his blessings, for the veterans over at Paralyzed Veterans of America Racing. I hear tell of a planned seminar for AIS in Sarasota in October... a bunch of new stuff on the website now days, downloadable too... check it out.

Every year just keeps getting better and better, all around! There's something special going on here; between the highly talented group of athletes, the coaches, the community support, and of course the Flagstaff Sports Massage therapists involved, it can just hardly get any better. Years ago, an athlete client came into a sports massage class I was teaching to explain the benefits he was seeing and feeling, and to encourage the students to use the techniques they were being taught. He shared his excitement about breaking personal records. The recovery and muscle spindle stimulation techniques, and theory we talked about then have morphed and evolved. The waters have not been muddied...they still recover well and go fast! Obviously it has more to do with the training blocks, but we can effectively say massage does not slow people down when applied correctly...

Enjoy your day! It has been so nice out there in the woods in NAZ with all this rain. I have actually managed to get out on my mountain bike with Ethan a little bit lately. That's life. I think Moshe had it right, it's so nice to have the kids doing real things, rather than just a "gamers" life.

One of my favorite work settings is table side at the races. This article explains, to a degree, what happens and why pre event massage could be utilized. Ever feel "flat" or "heavy" after a massage? Naw, we do some great pre event muscle spindle stimulation techniques, that have been noted to help people feel that "pop" in the muscle tissue, you know, that "spring". Many athletes report reduction in fatigue and faster times at the event.
