🌍 Protect Our Waterways—One Wash at a Time! 🌊

Did you know that tiny microfibers shed from clothing during washing can end up in our rivers and oceans? The NJ Department of Environmental Protection highlights that installing washing machine filters can significantly reduce microfiber pollution.

At Millennium International Textile, Inc., we’re committed to sustainability. Let’s take action together to keep our environment clean! 💚♻️

Microfiber washing machine filters are used to capture tiny plastic fibers (microplastics) released from synthetic clothing during the washing process, preventing them from entering the wastewater and polluting the environment. These microfibers, shed by friction and turbulence in the washing machine, can end up in rivers and oceans, posing a threat to aquatic life and potentially impacting human health. Filters help to reduce this microfiber pollution by capturing them before they are released into the water.

Please support Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Department by donating your used clothing, shoes, hats, purses, backpacks, linens, towels, and hard & soft toys (14" and under) via the clothing donation bins located in the firehouse parking lot. All proceeds go to the fire department. Thank you!

We are proud that in 2024 we collected over 404 TONS (that's over 808,000 lbs.) of used clothing, shoes, etc. that was kept out of our landfills. That is all thanks to you.
