Four Seasons, The Care You Trust

Four Seasons, The Care You Trust Since 1979, Four Seasons has provided serious illness and end-of-life care to Western NC. Patient comfort is the primary goal.

Since 1979, Four Seasons has maintained a commitment to providing exceptional serious illness and end-of-life care. Four Seasons provides care to those within our community through: Care Navigation, Home Care, Palliative Care, Hospice Care, Grief Services, and Clinical Research & Innovation. A national leader in high-quality person-centered care and innovations in care, Four Seasons consistently ranks in the top 10% of service providers for family satisfaction and is one of a handful of palliative and hospice organizations nationwide that contributes to clinical research studies and trials. SERVICE LINES

CARE NAVIGATION - Providing support and guidance for individuals and families as they navigate the aging journey, helping them evaluate their current and anticipated needs to ensure that a full range of support and safeguards are in place. HOME CARE - Our certified Home Care staff are trained to provide you and your loved ones with caring assistance to help with life's simple daily routines including grocery shopping/errands, bathing, dressing, meal prep, laundry, mobility and doctor's visits. From an hour a day to around the clock care, we are here to support you and your loved ones. PALLIATIVE CARE - Palliative Care is an extra layer of support for people with serious illness. This type of care is focused on providing patients with relief from the symptoms, pain and stress of a serious illness - whatever the diagnosis. The goal is to improve the quality of life for both the patient and family. Palliative Care is delivered by a team of providers, nurses, social workers and other specialists who work with your existing providers to deliver a customized care plan. Palliative Care is appropriate at any age and any stage of a serious illness, and can be provided together with curative treatment. HOSPICE CARE - Hospice is specialized care provided to patients with a serious illness. Each dedicated hospice team of professionals and volunteers provides pain and symptom management, as well as patient and family support and spiritual comfort. Hospice Care has a six month Medicare benefit and can be received in your home, a nursing home, assisted living facility, hospital, and our in-patient facility, Elizabeth House. GRIEF SERVICES - Grief counseling and education are available in both individual and group settings to kids and adults, regardless of hospice involvement. While grief is a universal process of recovery from a loss, it can be the most difficult experience of our life. We incorporate innovative grief techniques and education for those receiving Hospice Care, their loved ones, and the community at large. Four Seasons is supported by generous community donations to the Four Seasons Foundation and the Hospice Home Stores. Foundation donations and purchases from any of their three Hospice Home Stores located in Hendersonville, Arden and Brevard, enable all patients to have access to the care they need, regardless of the ability to pay. Four Seasons currently serves 14 counties in Western North Carolina: Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, McDowell, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, and Transylvania. If you are a caregiver of an aging loved one, it is important to prepare yourself and your family for unexpected events such as weather emergencies, power outages, water outages, fires, sheltering-in, and natural disasters.

With the impending inclement weather this weekend, be sure to help your aging loved one prepare properly. Here are some questions to ask yourself when considering your and your loved one's safety:

-Do you have at least one warm room you can stay in if the power goes out?
-What heat source will you use if the furnace stops working?
-Do you have extra blankets, coats, hats, gloves, and warm socks?
-Are your space heaters safe and ready (no extension cords, nothing nearby that could catch fire)?
-If the house gets cold, who can you go stay with?

In this blog post, we provide more helpful tips and resources for preparing for emergencies, including winter weather: https://fourseasonscare.org/preparing-for-emergencies/

Grief is often lonely, and groups provide a safe space in a world that doesn’t always understand. For those who are ready to share and hear from others at different points in the journey, a support group provides connection for the journey forward.

A staff facilitator aids the group in dialogue and experiences to promote healing. Your presence is important to the group, so we look forward to talking with you about the commitment you make to yourself and others by registering for a support group.

Tuesdays, February 3 - March 10
2:00 - 3:00 PM | Via Zoom
RSVP to DTipton@FourSeasonsCFL.org, or 828.692.6178 and ask for Grief Services
