Four Seasons, The Care You Trust

Four Seasons, The Care You Trust Since 1979, Four Seasons has provided serious illness and end-of-life care to Western NC. Patient comfort is the primary goal.

Since 1979, Four Seasons has maintained a commitment to providing exceptional serious illness and end-of-life care. Four Seasons provides care to those within our community through: Care Navigation, Home Care, Palliative Care, Hospice Care, Grief Services, and Clinical Research & Innovation. A national leader in high-quality person-centered care and innovations in care, Four Seasons consistently ranks in the top 10% of service providers for family satisfaction and is one of a handful of palliative and hospice organizations nationwide that contributes to clinical research studies and trials. SERVICE LINES

CARE NAVIGATION - Providing support and guidance for individuals and families as they navigate the aging journey, helping them evaluate their current and anticipated needs to ensure that a full range of support and safeguards are in place. HOME CARE - Our certified Home Care staff are trained to provide you and your loved ones with caring assistance to help with life's simple daily routines including grocery shopping/errands, bathing, dressing, meal prep, laundry, mobility and doctor's visits. From an hour a day to around the clock care, we are here to support you and your loved ones. PALLIATIVE CARE - Palliative Care is an extra layer of support for people with serious illness. This type of care is focused on providing patients with relief from the symptoms, pain and stress of a serious illness - whatever the diagnosis. The goal is to improve the quality of life for both the patient and family. Palliative Care is delivered by a team of providers, nurses, social workers and other specialists who work with your existing providers to deliver a customized care plan. Palliative Care is appropriate at any age and any stage of a serious illness, and can be provided together with curative treatment. HOSPICE CARE - Hospice is specialized care provided to patients with a serious illness. Each dedicated hospice team of professionals and volunteers provides pain and symptom management, as well as patient and family support and spiritual comfort. Hospice Care has a six month Medicare benefit and can be received in your home, a nursing home, assisted living facility, hospital, and our in-patient facility, Elizabeth House. GRIEF SERVICES - Grief counseling and education are available in both individual and group settings to kids and adults, regardless of hospice involvement. While grief is a universal process of recovery from a loss, it can be the most difficult experience of our life. We incorporate innovative grief techniques and education for those receiving Hospice Care, their loved ones, and the community at large. Four Seasons is supported by generous community donations to the Four Seasons Foundation and the Hospice Home Stores. Foundation donations and purchases from any of their three Hospice Home Stores located in Hendersonville, Arden and Brevard, enable all patients to have access to the care they need, regardless of the ability to pay. Four Seasons currently serves 13 counties in Western North Carolina: Buncombe, Cherokee, Clay, Graham, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Macon, Madison, Polk, Rutherford, Swain, and Transylvania. Hospice Provides Much-Needed Support to Families and Caregivers

Families and caregivers are sometimes overwhelmed and feel at a loss for how to provide the best care. Our Hospice Team consists of providers (doctors, nurse practitioners, or physician assistants), nurses, CNAs, social workers, spiritual counselors, grief counselors, music therapists, and volunteers who not only provide care for the patient, but also resources, support, education, and counseling to families and caregivers. Four Seasons also provides Respite Care for up to 5 days to give caregivers a much-needed rest.

Starting hospice earlier helps you to establish a relationship with your hospice team, improving the caregiving experience.

Last Friday, Care Advocate, Michelle, helped host a "glamour" event with Brookdale Asheville Overlook! Using costume jewelry she found at our Hospice Home Store, residents got to dress up and have their hair and makeup done to take beautiful glamour shots. This was such a full-circle moment! Many of our Home Store items are donated from families who have been served by Four Seasons, and all purchase proceeds directly support the care we provide. To have those items also support this fun event with residents at a partner facility is truly a full circle!

Care Advocate, Ramona, has had a busy week loving on residents in facilities we partner with and serve! She called Bingo at the Cherokee senior center and brought them cupcakes. Then, she provided a birthday cake at Macon Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for a resident's birthday party. We're so grateful for the intentional efforts of our staff to connect with facilities and their residents!

Hospice Care is About What’s Most Important to You

We ask our patients and families, “What’s most important to you?” and use those wishes as a guide to provide care that is the best fit for you.

Everyone’s wishes are different. Some involve priorities for attending a family event, writing letters, or having loved ones come to visit, prioritizing faith, hobbies or interests, or to plan advance directives and express wishes for end-of-life care. All of these wishes are included in your care plan. Involving hospice earlier means more time to carry out your wishes.
