This is Taytum, giving an update about Mom cause this past week has definitely been a busy one. If you didn’t know, mom was admitted to the ER at UC Monday night and shortly after ended up in the ICU. She had an infection that leaked into her bloodstream which caused her to go into sepsis. Thankfully, her treatment worked quickly and by late Thursday night she made it to the regular floor. She got discharged home Saturday evening, and although she’s still recovering she has definitely felt better than where she was previously at. I wanted to share this update since it’s hard for her to directly answer everyone’s questions at this time. Thank you for your support!

I am starting to feel so much better! I have an appetite like no other so I have gained a lot of weight! A friend & I planned on starting to exercise little by little but I just get tired so easily it’s crazy! I have went from 161 lbs to 190 lbs since July but food is so good now that I can eat whatever I want. I am truly blessed & am so thankful for everyone’s support!

Finally starting to get over this cold I’ve had for the past week. I had high hopes of getting the house picked up today after my appointment but this recliner was just calling for me! Here’s to another lazy afternoon before I pick the kids up that have non stop energy!

Another busy week in Cincinnati. I had another pentamidine treatment, more labs, transplant clinic, and endocrinology. I have finally reached 90 days since transplant, which means I should start to see the doctors monthly! I do still have to make the trip to Cincinnati every two weeks to get specific labs for now, though, because they are concerned about some of my levels. Evidently, I have contracted two viruses from the donor kidney that can possibly cause complications/damage for the transplanted kidney. They are wanting to keep a close eye on my levels to see if I will require any different medications. I can finally eat what I want and am taking full advantage of it. I have gained 20 pounds in a month, so I’m going to have to slow down a bit! I’m feeling so much better, have an appetite, but still low on energy. Overall, everything is going good, and I can’t thank everyone enough for their thoughts, support, and prayers!

With Taytum enjoying the beach this week, I’ve got to catch up on snuggles and silly time with my little man. He has endless amounts of energy and you never know what he is going to ask or say.

It’s hard to believe that she has her permit & is driving. She is stubborn, already knows everything, & has a lead foot just like her momma! She is doing a good job overall & wants to drive everywhere which makes me feel really old.

I had a great visit with the transplant doctors today. I am still waiting on some of the lab results to get back but overall everything is looking good. I feel so much better! I do get tired very easily but it’s a different kind of tired than I had before. I might start to venture out of the house a little more now.

I finally got all of my dialysis supplies out of the house….it all took up so much room! I guess I had gotten used to it so it’s nice to have the space back.

I actually am getting my appetite back & eating everything in sight. I am actually excited to be able to start exercising, even though i most likely won’t. I simply can’t thank everyone enough for your thoughts, prayers, & words of encouragement. I feel like I’m finally starting to see a ligjt at the end of the tunnel!

I’ve graduated to going to see the transplant team to every two weeks now! I’m starting to slowly get more energy but it still doesn’t take much to wipe me out. I already feel so much better than I did. I know it’s going to take some time but I’m excited to have the chance to fell 100% again.

Nothing new at the transplant clinic this week. I am finally free to drive!! Still limited on what I can lift and do but overall a good report! I’ve been battling a stomach bug but they said to just let it run its course so I’ve been resting a lot this past week. The most exciting thing is that I am completely off of blood pressure medicine. I can’t even remember a time that I wasn’t taking it! One less medication is like winning the lottery! I just want to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers,& help during this time!!

I had my first treatment of pentamidine yesterday morning before heading over to the transplant clinic for more labs & my appointment.

I am not in rejection, thank the lord above! My labs are still out of whack so the doctor made more medicine changes and thinks the pain I am having now is because I am doing more than I should. I am supposed to take it easy and drink more water.

It’s so hard to describe the difference in the tired that I feel when I was on dialysis compared to the tired I feel now. I can literally sleep the day away but at the same time, as I am starting to feel better overall I want to help around the house but the smallest tasks exhaust me. Today is a completely lazy day for me while Taytum, Kinleigh & Brylee take care of Kye. These kids are the best help!

Words cannot express my gratitude and appreciation for all of those that took part in the dessert auction. A huge thank you to Tracy Applegate, Amber Dodson, and Robin James for planning it and to all those that volunteered their time to work the event. I never fathomed that so many people would bake, donate, or participate in the event. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
