December has been a whirlwind of chaos! Appointments in Cincinnati, Florence, and Lexington for hospitalizations, follow ups, the flu, the stomach bug, starting new treatments, car problems, to mom falling again the entire family has ran all month but I wouldn’t have it any other way. AJ got to be home with us this month which is a great blessing! Even though everyone has been sick we still had the opportunity to spend time together and help each other. I can’t thank Justin, AJ, Taytum, Amber, Brylee, Isaac, Leigh and too many others to mention that have always been there for us and are just a call away.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I can’t wait to see what next year has in store for us!

Taytum had an appointment at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Monday and I started feeling rough on the drive there. As soon as we finished her appointment we ended up in the ER at UC where I finally got admitted for an infection. The plan was to get discharged on Wednesday but I started running a fever. Hopefully I can get discharged tomorrow!

Headed back to Cincinnati in the morning for more labs. I finally got to stop taking two medications but still have to go every two weeks for labs. My creatinine is increasing again and I’m still tired all the time but feel so much better than I did on dialysis.

Another lazy day at the Farrow household!

This is the first week in forever that I don’t have any appointments to go to! I have been resting & slowly working on cleaning the house. It has been so nice! Back to Cincinnati next week though, those appointments drain me but I am so grateful that I have a new kidney.

Nothing new going on, more labs and appointments as usual. I am feeling better than I was though. Kye is keeping me on my toes and has been helping me with a puzzle. Volleyball has been keeping Taytum busy and her team plays in the District Championship game tonight at Fleming County High Schooll! AJ is always working or sleeping, he stays so busy! I’m so proud of all of them!

This is Taytum, giving an update about Mom cause this past week has definitely been a busy one. If you didn’t know, mom was admitted to the ER at UC Monday night and shortly after ended up in the ICU. She had an infection that leaked into her bloodstream which caused her to go into sepsis. Thankfully, her treatment worked quickly and by late Thursday night she made it to the regular floor. She got discharged home Saturday evening, and although she’s still recovering she has definitely felt better than where she was previously at. I wanted to share this update since it’s hard for her to directly answer everyone’s questions at this time. Thank you for your support!

I am starting to feel so much better! I have an appetite like no other so I have gained a lot of weight! A friend & I planned on starting to exercise little by little but I just get tired so easily it’s crazy! I have went from 161 lbs to 190 lbs since July but food is so good now that I can eat whatever I want. I am truly blessed & am so thankful for everyone’s support!

Finally starting to get over this cold I’ve had for the past week. I had high hopes of getting the house picked up today after my appointment but this recliner was just calling for me! Here’s to another lazy afternoon before I pick the kids up that have non stop energy!

Another busy week in Cincinnati. I had another pentamidine treatment, more labs, transplant clinic, and endocrinology. I have finally reached 90 days since transplant, which means I should start to see the doctors monthly! I do still have to make the trip to Cincinnati every two weeks to get specific labs for now, though, because they are concerned about some of my levels. Evidently, I have contracted two viruses from the donor kidney that can possibly cause complications/damage for the transplanted kidney. They are wanting to keep a close eye on my levels to see if I will require any different medications. I can finally eat what I want and am taking full advantage of it. I have gained 20 pounds in a month, so I’m going to have to slow down a bit! I’m feeling so much better, have an appetite, but still low on energy. Overall, everything is going good, and I can’t thank everyone enough for their thoughts, support, and prayers!
