✨ Devotional Thought of the Day

In my reading today, something in Matthew 6 (and the surrounding passages) stopped me in my tracks. After Jesus walked on the water, He told the disciples: “Don’t be afraid. Take courage. I am here.” When He climbed into the boat, the wind immediately stopped.
But then Scripture says something surprising…
“They were amazed… for they still did not understand the significance of the miracle of the loaves, because their hearts were too hard to take it in.”
(Mark 6:52)
Think about that.
Jesus had just multiplied bread. He had just shown them His power. Yet when the storm came, their hearts still struggled to believe, receive, and recognize who He truly is.
And it made me pause…
Are our hearts ever too hard to see the wonderful works of our Lord?
Sometimes we love Jesus, but we keep Him at a distance.
Sometimes He is moving, but we don’t perceive it.
Sometimes He is speaking, but our fears drown out His voice.
Sometimes we limit who He is and what He can do because we don’t let Him all the way in.
Maybe today is the day to slow down and check our hearts.
Is there a place where we’ve grown numb?
Is there an area where we’ve stopped believing?
Is there a storm where we’ve forgotten the One who already multiplied the loaves?
There is so much more with Jesus.
Let Him in.
Let Him soften your heart.
Let Him reveal Himself again—right in the middle of the wind and waves.
Check your heart today… and invite Him back into every place.
He is here.
