Pursuit of Excellence:
10 NJ Clinicians Attend Wound Care Certification Course
September was an exciting month for ten New Jersey nursing professionals as they were selected to participate in Wound Care Certification training through the Wound Care Institute (WCI), a division of Relias. The course, sponsored by CARE Associates Network (CARE), was led by Allen Zagoren, DO, a board-certified trauma surgeon specializing in chronic and acute wound management. Parker Life graciously hosted the course in their Somerset location.
“CARE Associates Network is exploring new ways to help member facilities to improve the quality of care for patients. Having certified wound care professionals at each of our facilities will help to ensure positive patient outcomes” said MaryAnne Scuderi, President and CEO.
CARE implemented the value-added service in 2024 to help Skilled Nursing Facilities to exceed quality standards and elevate patient satisfaction. Chronic wounds impact 10.5 million people in the U.S., and 60,000 patients die from pressure injuries each year according to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
CARE Associates Network would like to thank the following Skilled Nursing Facilities for allowing their clinical staff the opportunity to attend this class: Barnert Subacute, Cheshire Home, Christian Healthcare, Elizabeth Nursing and Rehabilitation, Family of Caring at Montclair, Inglemoor Rehabilitation and Care Center, Lutheran Social Ministries at Crane’s Mill, Parker at Somerset, Parker at Monroe, and Woodcliff Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center.
