I know it’s easy to grumble over taking our pets out when it’s cold, rainy, and snowy. I would give anything to have Beans stand by the door, with her puppy eyes and gentle spirit, waiting for me to take her out, even in a blizzard. She was my child; which to some may be hard to understand. When I lost Beans at 10.5 months old, a part of me went with her. Snow days, like today, hit a bit harder and the grief is felt a little heavier. What I wouldn’t give to see her gallop one more time in the snow. God has healed me in ways that allow me to walk a little lighter knowing I’ll see her again one day. I know it’s cold, I know it’s wet, and I know it’s messy, but our dog children look to us to experience every day to the fullest. We are their whole world. Play out in the snow today in honor of Beans and other babies that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Thank you for reading; Beans must have known today that her mommy needed to acknowledge the grief and write through it…it’s been awhile.

Hunterdon Hospice Hosts Raffle Calendar Fundraiser

Hunterdon Hospice is excited to announce their 2nd annual Autumn Bounty Raffle - 30 days, 60 prizes, infinite gifts. This calendar raffle will award two prizes each day throughout the month of November, National Hospice & Palliative Care Month. Tickets are $20 each. Sales will run October 16th through October 31st, while supplies last, on Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays in the Hunterdon Medical Center lobby (11am - 5pm) and at the Wellness Centers in Clinton and Whitehouse Station (8:30am - 12:30pm). Additionally, tickets can be purchased from the Hunterdon Hospice office, located in the Paul Wirtz building, 215 Route 31, Flemington. (Monday - Friday 10am - 2pm).

Thanks to the tremendous efforts of the Hunterdon Hospice Volunteers and Staff, and the generosity of local businesses and individuals, $12,000 in prizes are available to win! Prizes include cash, items and gift cards for health & wellness, retail, restaurants, artisans & events. Purchasers of the one-month ticket will be entered for each prize drawn, so multiple wins are possible.
Proceeds from this event will provide support for unreimbursed services such as charity care, final wish projects, overnight care for the dying, specialized physician services, bereavement counseling and support groups. Hunterdon Hospice is dedicated to providing compassionate end of life care to members of our community at a time when it is most needed. Your support will help us make each day of life the best it can be.
