🚨 SCAM ALERT: “NOTICE OF DEFAULT” LETTERS
If you’ve received something that looks like this in the mail or by text … take a breath, it’s NOT legit.
We’ve had reports of these fake “traffic violation” notices circulating in our community, trying to scare folks into paying fines quickly by scanning a QR code or clicking a link.
Courts and law enforcement will NOT demand immediate payment through QR codes, random links, or unofficial websites.
⚠️ Red Flags to watch for:
“Final warning” or “urgent enforcement action” language meant to scare you
Requests to scan a QR code to make a payment
Generic or questionable case information
Pressure to act immediately
What you SHOULD do:
DO NOT scan the QR code or click any links
DO NOT send payment through anything listed on the notice
If you’re unsure, call the clerk of court directly using an official number (not the one on the letter)

🚨 ALERTA DE ESTAFA: “AVISOS DE INCUMPLIMIENTO”
Si ha recibido algo como esto por correo o texto… respire, NO es legítimo.
Hemos recibido reportes de estos avisos falsos de “violaciones de tráfico” circulando en nuestra comunidad, intentando asustar a las personas para que paguen multas rápidamente escaneando un código QR o haciendo clic en un enlace.
Los tribunales y las agencias del orden NO le exigirán pagos inmediatos a través de códigos QR, enlaces aleatorios o sitios web no oficiales.
⚠️ Señales de alerta a tener en cuenta:
Lenguaje como “advertencia final” o “acción urgente de cumplimiento” para asustarlo
Solicitudes para escanear un código QR para realizar un pago
Información de caso genérica o sospechosa
Presión para actuar de inmediato
Lo que DEBE hacer:
NO escanee el código QR ni haga clic en ningún enlace
NO envíe ningún pago a través de lo indicado en el aviso
Si tiene dudas, llame directamente a la oficina del secretario del tribunal utilizando un número oficial (no el que aparece en la carta)
