It's a bittersweet day in the office today. Our sweet Stephanie is moving on to PA school. We could not be more proud of her and at the same time, we are all so sad to not see her smiling face everyday! Congratulations Steph! We love you and we just know that you are going to be an amazing Physician Assistant! 💕💕

Today was a pretty special day at our office. One of our dearest patients wrote a song for us entitled "See" to show his appreciation for the care he has received here. He not only wrote a song just for us but he also performed it for us in person. Words cannot express how privileged we all felt for him to share his talent with us! We truly have the best patients!

Whether it's for those finishing touches on that Halloween costume or for everyday use, eye makeup can pose a risk of allergies or eye infections when not used correctly. Makeup that is older than 3 months can potentially have significant bacterial growth which can cause serious eye infections. Sharing makeup of any sort with other people can also lead to infection due to contaminates spreading from one person to another. Safeguard your peepers by keeping your makeup to yourself and throwing away anything older than 3 months. 👀

Using non-prescription contact lenses could lead to corneal abrasions or ulcers due to a poor fit, bacterial infections, allergic reactions, and an irreversible decrease or loss of vision. Keeping your eyes safe this Halloween ensures you don't miss any of the fun!

One in six Americans age 65 and older have a vision impairment that cannot be corrected with glasses or contact lenses. The risk of eye disease increases with age, yet many older adults neglect to see an ophthalmologist for care. To bring attention to taking care of our eyes as we age, the American Academy of Ophthalmology celebrates Healthy Aging Month to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of vision loss - and steps to help seniors take care of their sight.
