Celebrating Black History Month 🖤✨

This month, we proudly honor the achievements, resilience, and impact of Black leaders who have shaped our country — especially in healthcare. From pioneers like Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler, the first Black woman physician in the U.S., to countless Black nurses, respiratory therapists, researchers, and innovators who continue to advance medicine today — their contributions have saved lives and strengthened our communities.

As a team, we celebrate diversity, representation, and the importance of inclusive, compassionate care for every patient who walks through our doors. We are grateful to serve a community that reflects so many different stories, cultures, and backgrounds.

We’ve also enjoyed decorating our office in honor of Black History Month as a small way to show our appreciation and recognition throughout February. 🖤

We are so excited to share that Dr. Mohammed Siddiqui, McLaren Flint’s Chief Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine Fellow, has been honored by the American College of Chest Physicians with the Top Case Report Award at the 90th anniversary CHEST conference. With thousands of submissions every year, this is truly a remarkable achievement.

Our office has the privilege of working closely with Dr. Siddiqui, and we get to see the real person behind the award, his kindness, his dedication, and the way he goes above and beyond for every patient. We’re genuinely proud of him, not just for what he’s accomplished, but for the type of physician and teammate he is. This recognition is so well deserved, and we’re grateful to have him as part of our team.
