Patients Prepare for Response to Ga***rd Raids
Michigan medical ma*****na patients and caregivers, devastated by the raids on Medical Ma*****na Provisioning Centers in Ga***rd Michigan on Monday July 24th, have decided to hold a press conference in a downtown Ga***rd location, soon to be announced.
"Without the cloud (one of the dispensaries raided) being open I can't get my medicine safely," explains Tracy Sturdevan, a 37 year old medical ma*****na patient that relies on dispensaries in Ga***rd. "Now I have to look on the street to get my medicine and then the person I get it from probably doesn't know squat about it so I just have to trust that the medicine this person has available is suited to my disability. At Cloud 45 I can get exactly what I need for exactly what is ailing me at the time. Without being able to safely acquire my medicine I may as well go back to the prescription pain pills that I was on before I started using ma*****na. Honestly I feel that without being able to acquire my medicines safely I'm more likely to become hooked on pain pills again because I have to have pain relief."
Owner of AllWell Natural Health, Veronica James refuses to give in after being arrested during the raids. AllWell reopened the same day of the raids to service patients. "When a law doesn't make sense to the majority we not only have responsibility to question the law but an obligation not to obey such a law. We ask all patients to help us in our ongoing quest to insure northern Michigan patients safe access."
Ben Horner from the Cannabis Stakeholders Group, a 501c4 non-profit helped Ga***rd create the city's medical ma*****na zoning ordinance. "I'm so confused as to why the Michigan State Police is raiding all these dispensaries up here, considering that Ga***rd passed an ordinance last year, and the Governor signed a bill allowing local municipalities to opt-in. It's seems like MSP has a vested interest for themselves, thinking that themselves, as well as friends and family, will be the only ones to be able to get a license."
On Tuesday the Cannabis Stakeholders Group will release the location of the press conference and unveil the strategic response to the raids.
