Our Story
Genesee Health Plan (GHP) is a nonprofit health care organization that provides basic health services to the uninsured residents of Genesee County. GHP takes a proactive approach to health care by providing preventive health care services including doctor visits, cancer screenings, prescription drugs, outpatient mental health services, dental care, labs and X-rays Genesee Health Plan is not Medicaid or Healthy Michigan. GHP pays for doctor visits, prescriptions, lab tests, x-rays, outpatient mental health services, dental visits, and some outpatient procedures and surgeries. GHP is not insurance as we do not cover some services like hospitalization and emergency room visits. GHP is an independent health care organization and is not part of city, county, or state government.
We provide quality health coverage for Genesee County residents over the age of 19 (and people over 65 who do not qualify for Medicare) who donβt have any other health coverage and meet our income requirements. This includes hard-working people-some who work two or three jobs- who donβt receive health care coverage form their employer or donβt qualify for other health coverage.
