Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women worldwide, yet so many suffer in silence, are misdiagnosed, or are told their pain is “normal.” It’s NOT!

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of it, causing chronic pain, heavy cycles, infertility, fatigue, and inflammation. It can impact every part of a woman’s life, physically, emotionally, and mentally.

This month we raise awareness, support research, and most importantly, we listen to women. If you or someone you love struggles with painful periods or unexplained pelvic pain, advocate for answers. You deserve to be heard.

ENDOMETRIOSIS AWARENESS MONTH💛
🩸 She was told "it's just bad period pain" for 11 years.
Eleven years of being dismissed.
Eleven years of missing work, canceling plans, curling up on the bathroom floor.
Eleven years before someone finally looked inside and said —
"This is real. And we can fix it."
Today I excised Stage IV endometriosis from a 34-year-old warrior. Bowel involvement. Obliterated cul-de-sac. Ovaries buried in adhesions.
With robotic assistance, we removed every visible lesion with the kind of precision you simply cannot achieve with the naked eye or conventional laparoscopy.
4 incisions. Each smaller than your pinky nail.
3 hours of meticulous excision.
A woman who will wake up with a chance at a pain-free life.

🤖 Why robotic excision changes everything for endo patients:
The da Vinci system gives me:
🔬 10-40x magnification — I see lesions invisible to the naked eye
✂️ Wristed instruments — precise dissection in the most delicate spaces
💡 Firefly fluorescence — to identify hidden lesions & protect blood supply
🫀 Tremor elimination — surgeon fatigue doesn't reach the patient
Excision — not ablation. Cut it out, don't burn it down.
The difference matters:
🔴 ABLATION vs 🟢 EXCISION
🔴 surface only →🟢Removes root & all,🔴Higher recurrence →🟢Lower recurrence, 🔴 Faster and cheaper →🟢More complex and more complete, 🔴 Misses deep disease →🟢 Addresses deep infiltrating endo

1 in 10 women has endometriosis.
Average diagnosis time? 7-10 years.
That is a crisis hiding in plain sight.
If you have a daughter, sister, partner, patient, or friend who has been dismissed — send them this post.
They deserve a surgeon who believes them.
They deserve excision, not just management.
They deserve their life back. 💛
💬 Endo warriors — how long did it take YOU to get diagnosed? Tell US below. We want to hear your story.

Robotic gynecologic surgery is not “the robot doing the surgery.”
It’s a trained team delivering precision, consistently.

For patients: what this often means is less blood loss, smaller incisions, faster recovery, and meticulous surgery even in complex cases like fibroids, endometriosis, adhesions, and prolapse.

For colleagues: the real differentiator is not the platform, it’s the system:
• anatomy-first technique
• standardized workflows (ERAS, positioning, port strategy, energy discipline)
• reproducible teaching in the OR
• outcomes tracking and honest case selection
• continuous improvement with the whole team (anesthesia, nursing, techs)

AI will increasingly support decision-making and efficiency, but one principle can’t change:
Patients first. Always!!

Question for both groups:
What matters most to you when you hear “robotic surgery”
Safety, recovery time, outcomes, or access?

FIBROID MYTHS I HEAR EVERY WEEK:

❌ “If I have a lot of fibroids, I have to have open surgery.”
❌ “If they’re big, hysterectomy is my only option.”
❌ “My pain and heavy bleeding are just something I live with.”

✅ TRUTH: Many women with multiple fibroids can still be candidates for robotic-assisted myomectomy.
Robotics gives surgeons better visualization, fine instrument control, and the ability to carefully remove fibroids and rebuild the uterus through small incisions.

Real-life wins patients care about:
• Less pain
• Smaller scars
• Faster recovery
• Preserving the uterus (when desired)

🩵January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month 🩵

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, yet it still affects thousands of women each year. Routine Pap smears, HPV testing, and the HPV vaccine can save lives through early detection and prevention.

This month is a reminder to prioritize your health, schedule your screenings, and encourage the women you love to do the same. Awareness leads to prevention—and prevention saves lives.

🩵Take charge. Get screened. Stay informed.🩵

Some wins look like big moments in the OR.

Most wins are built by people you don’t always see!

✨Today I want to put the spotlight on the team at Ladies First Health Care. The clinical staff and the non-clinical staff. The ones “up front” and the ones behind the scenes. The ones rooming patients, answering phones, doing prior auths, checking benefits, calming nerves, turning rooms, scanning charts, coordinating imaging, chasing records, scheduling surgeries, handling refills, balancing the day when it gets heavy, and still showing up with kindness.

Because of you:
✅ Excellent Waiting times (and when we run behind, we communicate and recover fast).
✅ Patients feel seen, heard, and respected from check-in to check-out.
✅ The office feels professional and calm, even on the busiest days.
✅ Care is safer, smoother, and more consistent.
✅ We’re delivering results I used to only dream about when this practice was just an idea.

Robotic surgery gets attention, and I’m proud of what I do in the OR.
But the truth is: great outcomes don’t start at the console.

They start with a team that cares like it’s personal.

To my staff: thank you for protecting our standards, our patients, and each other. Thank you for the extra phone call, the extra room turnover, the extra patience, the extra effort no one posts about.
You are the reason this place works.
And I don’t take that for granted. 🙏

If you’ve had a great experience with our team, drop a comment and show them love. It means more than you know. ❤️
