🩵January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month 🩵

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, yet it still affects thousands of women each year. Routine Pap smears, HPV testing, and the HPV vaccine can save lives through early detection and prevention.

This month is a reminder to prioritize your health, schedule your screenings, and encourage the women you love to do the same. Awareness leads to prevention—and prevention saves lives.

🩵Take charge. Get screened. Stay informed.🩵

Some wins look like big moments in the OR.

Most wins are built by people you don’t always see!

✨Today I want to put the spotlight on the team at Ladies First Health Care. The clinical staff and the non-clinical staff. The ones “up front” and the ones behind the scenes. The ones rooming patients, answering phones, doing prior auths, checking benefits, calming nerves, turning rooms, scanning charts, coordinating imaging, chasing records, scheduling surgeries, handling refills, balancing the day when it gets heavy, and still showing up with kindness.

Because of you:
✅ Excellent Waiting times (and when we run behind, we communicate and recover fast).
✅ Patients feel seen, heard, and respected from check-in to check-out.
✅ The office feels professional and calm, even on the busiest days.
✅ Care is safer, smoother, and more consistent.
✅ We’re delivering results I used to only dream about when this practice was just an idea.

Robotic surgery gets attention, and I’m proud of what I do in the OR.
But the truth is: great outcomes don’t start at the console.

They start with a team that cares like it’s personal.

To my staff: thank you for protecting our standards, our patients, and each other. Thank you for the extra phone call, the extra room turnover, the extra patience, the extra effort no one posts about.
You are the reason this place works.
And I don’t take that for granted. 🙏

If you’ve had a great experience with our team, drop a comment and show them love. It means more than you know. ❤️

In guidelines and evidence reviews, excision is often favored when surgery is done for pain and for conditions like endometriomas (ovarian cysts), where recurrence can be lower with excision compared with ablation approaches. Bottom line
You don’t need “a surgery.”
You need the right surgery, for the right disease, done by the right team.
If you suspect endometriosis, advocate for yourself. Your pain deserves precision.
Save this. Share this with someone who’s been dismissed.

If you’ve been told “we’ll just burn it off” for endometriosis, pause.
Because endometriosis is often not a surface problem. It is frequently a below-the-surface disease that can involve the pelvic sidewall, uterosacral ligaments, bladder, bowel, and the tissues around the ureter.
Excision vs “burning” (laser, argon beam, coagulation)
Here’s the simplest way to understand it:
Ablation/coagulation (laser, argon beam, fulguration)
• Treats what you can see on the surface
• Can leave “roots” behind when disease extends deeper
• Often does not provide tissue for pathology confirmation
• Higher chance of persistent symptoms in the wrong patient, especially with deep disease
Excision
• Removes endometriosis rather than just scorching the top layer
• Allows the surgeon to follow the disease into deeper planes when needed
• Provides tissue for pathology

• In guidelines and evidence reviews, excision is often favored when surgery is done for pain and for conditions like endometriomas (ovarian cysts), where recurrence can be lower with excision compared with ablation approaches. Bottom line
You don’t need “a surgery.”
You need the right surgery, for the right disease, done by the right team.

Have your periods changed after a C-section?
More pain, heavier bleeding, or spotting that goes on for days?

These can be symptoms of a cesarean scar niche (also called an isthmocele) — a common but often overlooked issue after a C-section. A small “pouch” can form at the scar and trap blood, leading to prolonged spotting, abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, and sometimes secondary infertility.

The SOGC Clinical Consensus Statement provides:
✅ Clear diagnostic criteria
✅ Evidence-based treatment options (medical + surgical)
✅ Guidance for patients who desire future fertility
✅ Prevention strategies during cesarean delivery

At Ladies First Health Care, we evaluate these symptoms carefully and offer advanced surgical management when needed, including robotic-assisted laparoscopy (minimally invasive surgery with smaller incisions and faster recovery for many patients).

If your cycle hasn’t felt right since your C-section, you deserve answers and options.

Been told you need a “big cut” for fibroids, endometriosis, prolapse, or a hysterectomy?
Not always.
And this matters:
“Minimally invasive” is not one-size-fits-all, especially for endometriosis.
Technique and surgeon expertise can change the outcome.
At Ladies First Health Care, Dr. Ahmad is triple board certified, including Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery and specializes in advanced robotic minimally invasive surgery.
What that can mean for many patients:
✅ Tiny incisions
✅ Less pain
✅ Faster recovery
✅ Smaller scars
Don’t opt for less. Don’t accept a large abdominal scar without a true specialist opinion.
