No cookie required — just life doing what life does.

This year cracked me open in all the right ways. I’m grateful for the messy lessons, the quiet rebuilds, the laughter that came out of nowhere, and the people who stayed real through it all.

Here’s my gratitude list — not the shiny kind, but the lived-in kind. The kind that smells like coffee, sounds like deep breaths, and feels like starting over again (and again).

I’m thankful for the challenges that revealed my strength and softened my heart.
I’m grateful for my capacity to pause, breathe, and choose awareness over reaction.
I appreciate the courage that lets me face uncertainty with curiosity.
I’m thankful for the quiet moments that reconnect me to my inner knowing.
I’m grateful for the patience I’ve learned through waiting and trusting life’s timing.
I appreciate my evolving ability to forgive — myself and others.
I’m thankful for the creativity that flows when I stop forcing outcomes.
I’m grateful for the resilience that has turned past pain into compassion.
I appreciate my willingness to keep learning, even when it means unlearning.
I’m thankful for the sense of purpose that keeps re‑emerging, even when paths change.
I’m grateful for the people who challenge me to grow beyond comfort.
I appreciate the friends who see me clearly and love me anyway.
I’m thankful for mentors and guides who share wisdom with humility.
I’m grateful for the chance to listen deeply and witness others’ stories.
I appreciate the laughter that dissolves tension and reminds me of joy.
I’m thankful for the moments of reconciliation that healed old divides.
I’m grateful for those who trust me with their vulnerability.
I appreciate the unseen kindness of strangers that restores faith in humanity.
I’m thankful for the communities that hold space for authenticity.
I’m grateful for love in all its forms — friendship, family, partnership, and service.
I’m thankful for the beauty of nature — its silence, rhythm, and renewal.
I’m grateful for the sunrise that reminds me each day is a new beginning.
I appreciate the vast intelligence of life orchestrating everything in perfect timing.
I’m thankful for the opportunity to contribute something meaningful to the world.
I’m grateful for music, art, and stories that awaken the soul.
I appreciate the mystery that keeps life from ever being fully known.
I’m thankful for the collective awakening happening across humanity.
I’m grateful for the teachers — human, animal, and elemental — that mirror wisdom back to me.
I appreciate the stillness between moments where I can feel connected to everything.
I’m thankful for existence itself — the privilege of being conscious, alive, and evolving.

Grateful for the strength that came from breaking, the softness that came from healing, and the awareness that keeps me choosing love, curiosity, and patience — even when it’s hard.

No fortune cookie could’ve predicted this kind of growth. But I’ll take it.

There’s a moment each year when the world holds its breath—the equinox. Day and night balance perfectly, light and dark meet in a moment of poised tension. It’s not a static harmony but a hinge, a joint in the turning body of the earth. The world doesn’t stop; it pivots.

That hinge is where art lives.

The oldest roots of the word art trace back to artus, meaning “joint” or “to fit together.” Art, in its earliest sense, was not about decoration or expression—it was about connection. To make art was to join what had been separate, to create movement between worlds that might otherwise stay apart. A joint is not a fusion; it’s a meeting place that allows motion. Without joints, the body stiffens. Without art, the world does too.

Every artist, in this sense, is a kind of cosmic mechanic. They keep the hinges of reality from seizing up. They work in the liminal spaces—between self and other, order and chaos, beauty and disruption. The equinox offers a reminder that balance is not stillness but dynamic tension, a living articulation between opposites.

To make art is to stand at that threshold, to hold the joint open long enough for light to pass through. It’s to know that creation happens not in the extremes, but in the meeting point—the cosmic joint where the world turns and begins again.

🌟 I Got a Hong Sak Yant Tattoo! 🌟

I'm excited to share that I've just gotten a Hong Sak Yant tattoo, a traditional Khmer design rich with history and meaning.

🕊️ The Myth of the Hong Bird:
- In Khmer mythology, the Hong bird is revered for its grace and elegance, often seen as a celestial creature that accompanied the Buddha on his journeys.
- It's believed to appear only in places blessed with utmost peace, prosperity, and happiness.

✨ Symbolism of the Fenghuang and Hamsa:
- The Hong, akin to the Fenghuang, carries profound symbolism:
- The head represents the sky.
- The eyes symbolize the sun.
- The back signifies the moon.
- The wings embody the wind.
- The feet stand for the earth.
- The tail represents the planets.
- The Fenghuang is linked with the number nine, residing in the ninth layer of heaven.
- In Hinduism, the Hamsa is the vahana (vehicle) of deities like Brahma, Gayatri, Saraswati, and Vishvakarma. It symbolizes the individual soul or spirit and the "Universal Soul or Supreme Spirit."
- The Hamsa is known for its ability to separate milk from water, symbolizing discernment and purity, and in some traditions, it is believed to produce soma, a divine nectar.

🎨 Tattoo Design and Meanings:
- The design captures the Hong's majestic wings and poised posture, symbolizing the ability to rise above life's challenges.
- Accompanied by sacred scripts and mantras, it enhances qualities like charisma, leadership, and protection.

🙏 Personal Significance:
- For me, this tattoo is about embracing positive opportunities and staying focused on my path.
- It serves as a reminder of the connection to ancient traditions and spiritual guidance.
- The Hamsa's ability to extract milk from water represents wisdom and the ability to discern truth from illusion, a quality I aspire to embody.

The Hong is part of a rich tapestry of mythical birds in Buddhist art, like the Garuda and Kinnara, and shares cultural significance across languages: Hindi (hans), Kannada (ಹಂಸ), Telugu (హంస), Tamil (அன்னப்பறவை), Khmer (ហង្ស), Burmese (ဟင်္သာ), and Mon (ဟံသာ).

I'm thrilled to carry the Hong's powerful symbolism and its connection to the Buddha with me every day. 🕊️✨

I wrote this mantra for the high priestess today as we enter into the astrological sign of Pisces.

Bless me, dear Universe, and grant me clarity to understand the unfolding of my life today. I seek the light of wisdom to illuminate my inner shadows, allowing me to face the challenges ahead with mindfulness.

I aspire to embody the compassion of the Bodhisattvas, recognizing that every perspective holds value. Teach me humility, which is true strength, and guide my thoughts and actions to be beneficial and kind.

May I be of service to those in need, bringing light to their path as I seek the same illumination. Help me shift my focus from self-concern to the well-being of others. Free me from the fear of losing face in the eyes of others.

In your infinite compassion, may those who care for me see my true self. With gratitude and sincerity, I ask for these blessings.

Namaste.
