Today, at Troy-Johnson Learning Korner’s Afterschool Program, our groups focused on: “Teaching Kids How To Build Bullying Resilience.”

I created a handout that teaches children simple ways to stay confident and safe when facing bullying. It encourages them to:
• Know their worth and focus on their strengths.
• Stay calm and speak up to a trusted adult when hurt or scared.
• Build positive friendships and support others who are bullied.
• Practice self-care through rest, play, and healthy routines.
• Use positive self-talk to grow inner strength and confidence.

Parents can help by listening, modeling kindness, and reinforcing their child’s value and courage every day. It’s imperative that you check in with your children daily and be their biggest advocate when they tell you they’re being bullied.

Sometimes, people mistake someone’s absence for a lack of support — when really, it’s just the result of General or Social Anxiety. 😥
