Contractor Position Available - Mental Health Counselor

Phoenix Counseling and Resources, LLC is a group counseling practice located in Florence, Alabama. Our licensed counselors provide individual and couple counseling for a broad range of issues. Our mission is to help individuals and couples thrive in their personal and relational lives. We are dedicated to providing a trauma-responsive and affirming therapeutic environment.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site contractor opportunity for a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) at Phoenix Counseling and Resources, LLC, located in Florence, AL. The LPC will be responsible for providing individual and/or couple counseling services to clients, developing and implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. The counselor will also be responsible for maintaining accurate client records and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Trauma Therapy and Culturally Responsive care
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Licensed as an LPC in the state of Alabama or eligible for licensure
• Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
• Previous experience in a clinical or counseling setting is preferred

There can be no doubt that the symptoms of complex post-traumatic stress disorder are life-altering and debilitating. In this article, we begin a series outlining the symptoms of CPTSD a few at a time to help bring understanding that the world is correct, complex post-traumatic stress disorder is important and should be included in the DSM’s next iteration so that providers of mental health services can better diagnose and treat it.

Today we are going to examine together the first six on the list of the most common symptoms listed above and conquer the rest in subsequent articles.

🫶June is PTSD Awareness Month, and we want our community to know that you are not alone. 🫶

The Florence Police Department has partnered with the Lauderdale County Alabama Sheriff's Office, and together we have 8 certified mental health officers. They are specially trained to respond to individuals in crisis with care and understanding.

Last year, our team responded to 323 mental health-related calls and 138 so far this year.

Whether it’s PTSD or any mental health challenge, we are here to assist and connect you to the support you need.
