Muscle spasms are a type of cramp that occurs when your muscle involuntary and forcibly contacts uncontrollably and canβt relax. They are usually the result of overexertion, lack of stretching, poor circulation, dehydration, and lack of certain nutrients. The most common sites for muscle spasms are the thighs, calves, feet, hands, arms, and abdomen.
