Please help us welcome Julie to the Assisting Hands team! 💙

Julie joins us as our new recruiter and brings 18 years of healthcare experience to the team. She started her healthcare journey as a dietary aide at a nursing home near her home and quickly discovered a passion for helping others after taking a health services class in high school.

Julie is an STNA and has also worked as a Wellness Coordinator in independent living, supporting both staff and residents with scheduling and daily operations. What she loves most about senior care is seeing how happy clients are when you are there for them.

Outside of work, Julie enjoys spending time with her dog, crafting, scrapbooking, and baking.

Loreli’s journey in senior care started at just 14 years old, working as a housekeeper in a senior living community.

What began as a first job quickly turned into something more. She found herself inspired by the stories, wisdom, and life experiences of the residents she met every day.

That early connection led her to pursue nursing, and over the past 20 years, Loreli has built an incredible career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her experience includes roles as a Memory Care Director, Wellness Director, and now Care Manager, all rooted in her passion for serving older adults.

Her passion for nursing began when she helped care for her grandmother during her battle with cancer. That experience shaped the compassionate approach she brings to every patient today.

Melissa cares for each client as if they were her own family member, always asking herself, “What if this were someone I love?” That mindset is at the heart of the care she provides every day.

"Encourage daily movement. Help your loved one take brief walks, do chair exercises, or stretch each day. Consistent movement can reduce the risk of functional decline."

Even small amounts of movement each day can make a big difference in maintaining strength, independence, and overall well-being. 💙

April is Parkinson's awareness month, so we're dedicating every Tuesday in April to tips for those caring for loved ones with Parkinson's:

"Parkinson’s meds don’t just “work or not”, they create windows where your loved one can move, think, and function better. Families who do well at home tend to plan around those windows (for example: scheduling showers, walks, or outings during “on” times). If you ignore that rhythm, everyday tasks become unnecessarily frustrating."
