I've talked to a lot of my clients lately about the importance of water. Not just after a massage, but in general. Here is what I know and have learned about proper hydration!

If you’re constantly tight, sore, or cramping, it might not just be stress. It could be dehydration.

Your muscles are about 70 percent water. When you’re dehydrated, they tighten more easily, fatigue faster, and don’t release as well, even during massage.

On a cellular level, water helps deliver nutrients, remove waste, and support proper muscle contraction. Without enough of it, cells become stressed, and stressed cells often show up as tight muscles.

A simple guideline for daily water intake is to take your body weight in pounds and divide it by 2. That’s about how many ounces to aim for.
Example: 150 pounds equals about 75 ounces per day. If you exercise, sweat often, drink caffeine, or spend time in the heat, you likely need more.

Spring water contains natural trace minerals like magnesium and potassium that support hydration and muscle function. Purified water is safe and clean, but may not contain those minerals unless they’re added back in.

Electrolytes like sodium, potassium, and magnesium also help your body properly absorb and use water. One serving daily can support better hydration.

Options include sugar free sports drinks, electrolyte packets, coconut water with low sugar, or trace mineral drops.

Hydrate the day before your massage, not just the hour before. Your muscles will respond much better!

My daughter is a senior this year and I just had to share this with you all!

So, I haven't slept much in days and weeks now because there is simply so much going on in our lives and I am overwhelmed. BUT...

This is all GOOD stress. I couldn't be more thankful for the ability to help provide for my daughter and my family because of those of you who support my small business.

Most of Lily's childhood she grew up hearing the word no. No, you can't have this or that. No we can't go here or there. No, I don't have the money...

I was a single Mom when I put myself BACK to massage therapy school for a 2nd time. Yes, I've been to school for this twice, 16 years apart! That's a whole other story. But after I graduated the 2nd time in the middle of a global pandemic, things actually started looking up for us.

Of course we had to wait for the world to open back up again, but I was able to leave the lunchroom at Rogers High School and finally follow dreams that were set in motion when I was 19 years old. And now I'm 42. 42 and living out a calling and a passion that I had to WAIT for, for 16 years.

In the waiting I struggled, wrestled with God, hit my rock bottom due to a brain malformation, marrying the wrong person and being isolated miles from family, to say the least. But I had this child.

This precious soul, my daughter, my greatest gift in this life. She doesn't realize how many times she saved me and how much I endured for her...FOR her. I would do anything to give her a normal childhood as possible. I just always had to say no.

But when I finally started my career as an LMT, I got to start saying yes a little bit more. And this is why I went back to school. To better myself and OUR lives and our FUTURE. And here we are...blessed beyond measure. Finally. Don't get me wrong, life still gets messy and things are hard. But it's not like it was.

I've been able to work and work and pour my passion and heart into my community because I truly LOVE what I do. And I truly love helping you all. And in return y'all have supported me but not just me. Her too. Y'all have equally poured back into my life and have allowed me the provisions I've needed to raise her.

So I say thank you. THANK YOU!!! When I was at my lowest God whispered a bold vision over my life and He let me know that He wasn't through with me yet. How blessed am I to have been able to live through these years and see prayers answered and my whole entire life change from the inside out.

This is why you support a small business. You are literally helping families thrive in your very own communities. And I am eternally grateful. Humbled. Emotional. Just so thankful.

And now I'm about to get to watch my baby fly and I know....I KNOW...the best is yet to come!

New policy for new clients:

You must reply and confirm your appointment the day before when reminders are sent or your appointment will be cancelled.

Soon you will have to provide a card on file in order to book with me so I can reduce no call/no show appointments. You will not be charged until service is complete.

However, you WILL be charged a $25 no show fee in the event you actually don't show up or call and will be permanently blocked from booking online.

My time is valuable not just to me but to others needing in those spots.
