IMPORTANT NOTICE : Federal Government Reopens and Full November SNAP Benefits to Be Issued

Good news for Kentucky families!

The Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) is now working to issue full November benefits to EBT cards.

What SNAP Recipients Need to Know:

• If you already received a reduced amount for November, you will get the rest of your benefits added to your EBT card on or about November 15.
• If you have not yet received your November benefit, you will get a partial payment on or about November 15 and the remaining amount on your regular issuance date.
• Check your EBT card balance before shopping to make sure your benefits are available.
• DCBS offices are open and continue to take and process applications. We are here to help if you have questions.

To make sure Kentuckians have access to food right away, Governor Beshear declared a state of emergency and directed $5 million from the state budget reserve trust fund to Feeding Kentucky food banks.

You can find local food help and other community resources at kynect.ky.gov/resources.

For the latest updates:
• Visit chfs.ky.gov/agencies/dcbs
• Log in to your kynect.ky.gov account
• Watch for official DCBS texts or emails

❤️We want to acknowledge 🌎 World Kindness Day today!

❤️Small acts of kindness really do make a big difference!

❤️We challenge you to do one small act of kindness today, so you can have a positive impact on another person.

❤️It can be as small as giving another person a heartfelt compliment, writing a friend, loved one, or coworker a thank you card to show kindness & appreciation, donating food items to a local food pantry, or paying for someone’s meal behind you in the drive thru line.

❤️By showing extra love & care to our fellow humans spreads light, kindness and positivity to others.

❤️Please share your act of kindness with us in the comments below 👇 that way, we can all focus on kindness today!

🌿Today’s gratitude tip is to make a gratitude jar!

🌿This is a fun, simple & creative way to express gratitude!

🌿Try doing a 30 day challenge where you list at least 1 thing you’re grateful/thankful for (no repeats) and at the end of the 30 days re-read them!

🌿Try to be as specific as possible-for example instead of “I’m grateful for my best friend,” specify exactly why you’re grateful-“I’m grateful for my best friend’s text message that made me smile today.”

🌿Try to come up with things that brought joy to you or put a smile on your face such as “the beautiful/colorful fall leaves, the sunny day today, my favorite coffee this morning or the compliment I received from a stranger today.” These small things make a big difference in our day!

🌿What are you grateful for today? Please share below ⬇️ In the comments

🌱We are continuing our theme of gratitude this week!

🌱Here are some simple tips on how to cultivate calm with daily gratitude practice:

•Start your day with a morning gratitude practice. Before you leave your bed, take a moment to reflect on something (or someone) you’re grateful for
•Create a gratitude journal by keeping a journal by your bedside to write out what things you’re grateful for. Try this for at least 1 week (or maybe 1 month) and notice how you feel
•Use mindful breathing. As you wake up, take 3-5 deep breaths as you focus on the things you’re grateful for each day & notice a positive start to your day

🌱Check out these ideas ⬇️ below if you’re new to gratitude practice
🌱We hope thes tips will help you cultivate a calm start to your day!
