Thoughtful Journey Counseling
Celeste Coffman, LPC & Practice Owner
My name is Celeste Coffman, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been working in the counseling field since 2005, and worked in academic advising prior to that. In my years as a counselor I have worked with clients experiencing depression, mental illness, anxiety, relationship issues, grief/bereavement, divorce, unemployment, self-injury/cutting, academic/job failure, infertility, parenting concerns, and many other issues. The name of my practice is Thoughtful Journey Counseling, because it is my belief that the journey of life requires purposeful attention. No one would undertake a trip across the world without packing the needed belongings, preparing a route, and making plans. Likewise, those who wander through life without purpose will most certainly experience pain and difficulty. I specialize in counseling that helps the client identify his or her desires for the future and then take manageable steps to reach those goals within a reasonable time frame. In practice I often recommend books or articles for the client to read, and I occasionally will give "homework" assignments to help with goal-setting. (Don't worry - there will be no grades or tests on this homework!) Whether your desire is to mend a broken relationship, better manage your emotions, or make a serious decision, I will help you work to meet your desired outcome. Many times my clients know vaguely what goals they wish to reach, but have a tough time putting a finger on what needs to be done to make a change. I will work to help you sort out your thoughts and feelings, spending adequate time on listening to your concerns with an open mind. Virtually everyone will experience times of great stress, anxiety, depression, family conflict, relationship issues, and fear. My overarching goal is to help you process these difficult experiences and try to find positive steps for future well-being.
