Green Oaks Inn has been a pioneer in the assisted living industry in the state of Alabama since its establishment in 1984 and continues to serve as a model for others who offer this type of housing for the elderly. We are a Memory Care Assisted Living Facility that specializes in the unique needs of senior adults with Alzheimer’s and/or other dementia-related disorders. We are located in a beautif

ul, quiet, rural setting and we provide care in our two adjacent communities that are each home to 16 residents. When considering the special needs of a loved one, it is important to seek an Assisted Living Facility that maintains full compliance with the standards established by the Alabama Department of Public Health. We are the only Specialty Care Assisted Living Facility in Lauderdale County that is licensed by the Alabama Department of Public Health and we have maintained compliance with their regulations since our inception. We consistently strive to provide a nurturing environment that feels safe and familiar, empowering, and fulfilling to our residents. We support independence through a lifestyle designed specifically for our residents’ unique abilities, needs, and requests. Most of all, we encourage our residents to connect with the people that love them – their families and their extended family here at Green Oaks. Specialty Care Assisted Living provides for the safety and security of those residents whose cognitive impairment requires that they receive attention and supervision beyond what is needed in the traditional Assisted Living community. The Green Oaks Inn Creel House and Green Oaks Inn Pepper House are the only licensed SCALF facilities in Lauderdale County. Our services and amenities for every resident include:

•Round the Clock Care that is centered around resident needs, provided by a familiar team
•Medication Managed and Administered by Licensed Nurses
•Medical Director providing ongoing consultation to our nursing team

•Assistance with all activities of daily living

Baby Lincoln Grant Phillips entered the world on April 18th at North Alabama Medical Center. Soon after his birth, his family was met with unexpected and heartbreaking news—Lincoln has been diagnosed with Ebstein’s anomaly, a rare congenital heart condition that affects the tricuspid valve and how blood flows through his heart.

Lincoln is currently at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, where he is receiving specialized care, testing, and close monitoring as his medical team determines the best path forward. His parents, Dustin and Hannah Catherine, remain faithfully by his side. Hannah Catherine is a cardiac nurse by trade, making this journey even more personal as she understands the complexities of heart conditions, yet now walks this road as a mother. While they are deeply grateful for the care Lincoln is receiving, they are also facing the emotional and financial strain that comes with such an unexpected situation.

Dustin is a local small business owner, known in the community for his dedication and hard work with the special needs community, and Lincoln’s grandfather, Howard, is a longtime small business owner as well. Their family has long been rooted in serving and supporting their community, and now they find themselves leaning on that same community during this incredibly difficult time.

As Lincoln continues to fight, any donations will help with travel expenses, meals, and temporary lodging so Dustin and Hannah Catherine can remain close to him and focus fully on their baby boy. Even the smallest gesture can make a meaningful difference right now.

Most importantly, the Phillips family is holding tightly to their faith in the Lord. They are trusting Him through the uncertainty and finding strength in the love and encouragement surrounding them. Prayers from the community are especially important during this time, and they are deeply appreciated. Please continue to lift up baby Lincoln, Dustin, and Hannah Catherine as they walk this journey with hope and faith.
