Fall Feelings & Similes was a fun activity that got our residents thinking creatively! We compared the beauty of autumn to familiar memories, feelings, and sights.
One example that was shared- “Stepping on autumn leaves Is like the sound of eating a bowl of Rice Krispies.” 😜

There are several key benefits to this type of activity:
Cognitive Stimulation- creating similes encourages residents to think creatively, make connections, and use language in expressive ways.
Memory Recall- the Fall theme naturally prompts reminiscing about past seasons, family, traditions, and favorite memories, which support emotional connection.
Emotional Expression- similes help residents articulate feelings in a fun low-pressure way.
