Every client is like a member of the family. As social workers, we learn to listen, be patient, and even share laughter despite life’s struggles. Because sometimes, simply listening is enough to lighten their burdens.

Healing doesn’t happen all at once.
It unfolds slowly. . . like the sun rising over still waters.
Even if today feels heavy, you’re not failing.
You’re healing.

💛 We walk with you through every sunrise, setback, and step forward.
You don’t have to do it alone.

July 24 is International Self-Care Day.

Some days, self-care means drinking water and getting enough sleep.
Other days, it means facing the waves of grief and choosing not to give up.

This image reminds us:
Healing doesn’t mean erasing the past—it means honoring your story, and the version of you who survived it.

Today, honor yourself.
In the smallest or the bravest of ways.

🧠 PTSD doesn’t just live in memories.
It shows up in the body — in breath that’s too shallow, in muscles that stay tight, in a heart that races for no reason at all. I’ve felt it in my own life, and I see it often in the lives of the people I’m blessed to work with.

🌷 One of the simplest, gentlest tools I turn to — for myself and with my clients — is affirmation. Words that remind the nervous system: you are safe now.

💬 If your body is holding on right now, try this:

✨ “In this moment, I am safe. My body can rest.”

Say it aloud. Whisper it to yourself. Write it down and carry it in your pocket. Let the words be an anchor when the storm feels loud. Then call 859-363-6026 to schedule an appointment with one of our amazing therapists.

Our Story

Accent Therapeutic Services was created to provide supportive therapeutic intervention to strengthen family and individual functioning.

Our focus is helping adolescents/teenagers (ages 8 to 19) as well as the families that support them who may be dealing with behavioral issues, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, relationship issues, adjustment disorders, stress and self-esteem. I have specialized training to address trauma and abuse.

Therapy is a collaboration where we discover the areas where you want to make changes in your life and work toward. I like to highlight a patient’s strengths and use them to improve their confidence in therapy. My approach is very direct and I have a policy of “not beating around the bush”; but is done in a very compassionate and strengths-based manner.

Anxiety and stress take on many different forms. Stress from work, being a parent, a student, or just daily life can take a once peaceful life and turn it upside-down, creating conflict in our various relationships. No matter what stressors you face, I'll be there to help you learn the tools necessary to overcome every obstacle that gets in your way.
