🚗✨ It’s Child Passenger Safety Week! ✨👶

Did you know that the correct car seat can reduce the risk of injury in a crash by over 70%? The right fit — for your child’s age, weight, height, and stage — makes all the difference. Seat belts are for big kids — once they’re tall enough (usually 4’9”).

Most car seats are not used correctly — so double-check yours!

🍎🥕 Building a Healthy Snack for Kids 🥛🍓

Snacks are important fuel for growing bodies—and they can be both fun and nutritious! Here’s a simple formula you can follow:
âś… Pick a Protein: cheese sticks, yogurt, nut butter (or seed butter for allergies), hummus, boiled egg.
âś… Add a Fiber-Filled Carb: whole grain crackers, pita, popcorn, oats.
✅ Don’t Forget the Color: fruits or veggies like apple slices, carrots, grapes, cucumber sticks, or berries.
✅ Keep it Simple & Balanced: Pair 2–3 food groups for energy that lasts.

🌟 Example Snack Ideas:
Apple slices + peanut butter
Carrot sticks + hummus + whole grain pita
Yogurt + berries + granola

Small changes in snacking habits can make a big difference in your child’s energy, mood, and overall health.

🦷 Fluoride = Stronger Smiles!
Fluoride is a natural mineral that helps prevent cavities by strengthening your child’s tooth enamel and making it more resistant to decay. It’s safe, effective, and one of the best ways to keep little smiles healthy!

You should use a rice grain amount of fluoride toothpaste until the age of 5 years old. When child can reliably spit, you can increase to a pea sized amount of fluoride toothpaste.

Protecting teeth early sets the foundation for a lifetime!

🚨 Measles Cases Rising in Kentucky – What Parents Need to Know

We’re seeing a rise in measles cases in Kentucky, with 13 confirmed cases so far. Most recently a case confirmed in Louisville. Measles is highly contagious and can be serious, especially for young children. Measles can also cause fatal brain disorder years after infection called Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis (SSPE).

💉 We are offering early MMR-V boosters for children who already received their first dose. If it’s been at least 3 months since their first MMR-V, they can get their second dose now. This booster counts as the regular 4-year-old vaccine, so there’s no need to repeat it later.

Protecting our kids and community is a team effort. Call our office to check your child’s vaccine records or schedule a booster especially if you will be traveling.
