Med Plus Clinic The Shoals area's longest running walk-in clinic! We are open Every Day from 7:00a - 7:00p.

We offer services for primary care, physicals (DOT/HealthCard, sports, etc.), drug screens, orthopedics, wound care, and more! The purpose of this page is to help us stay in touch with our community. We will update you on health news, and notify you about any temporary changes to our hours. We cannot give direct medical advice over the internet or phone, so we ask that you come see us if you have

medical questions. Our Urgent Care Center offers walk-in patients quick, quality care without the ER cost. Our primary purpose is to treat episodic, minor illnesses and injuries that require prompt, professional medical attention. We have lab and x-ray capabilities available on-site to provide quick and comprehensive care. Our General Family Practice offers service for ongoing and preventative care such as yearly check-ups and medication management for diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure. This week’s spotlight shines on our very own jack-of-all-trades and true Renaissance woman, Jill Jantzen!

Jill has been part of the Medplus family for nearly 25 years, working at both locations and wearing many hats—from insurance and billing to front desk reception. Today, she’s one of our incredible medical assistants!

When asked about her favorite memories at Medplus, Jill fondly recalls festive Christmas parties, family events, and even the unforgettable April Fool’s Day when she managed to hide a provider’s car!

Outside of work, Jill loves traveling, gardening (especially when it involves gnomes), and diving into books full of mystery, romance, and suspense. She also enjoys attending concerts with family and friends. Some of her favorites include Three Days Grace, Disturbed, Lady Antebellum, and even Willie Nelson! When it’s time to relax on the couch at the end of a long work day, you’ll find her watching Criminal Minds or enjoying British TV shows.

It's time to meet another one of our providers in this next installment of Meet Medplus Monday!

Meet Joel Sessions, one of our amazing PA providers, celebrating 4+ years with us! Joel loves being able to help others, both at the clinic AND in the ER, where he has made a difference for almost a decade!

Joel is a HUGE lover of baseball and was even a pitcher while attending both UNA and Southeastern Louisiana University. He and his wife, Mackenzie, enjoy going to Atlanta Braves games, attending various music festivals, and playing golf with friends! He also loves to travel and would happily return to either Costa Rica or Hawaii on his next vacation. When he isn't spending time taking care of patients, traveling the world, or hitting home runs, he spends most of his time with his two daughters, Stevie and Rylee!

This Monday's installment of is none other than Ashley McDonald. Look familiar? You met her mom in last week's feature!

Ashley has been one of our office receptionists for almost two years now and loves getting to spend time with her coworkers and taking care of patients at the clinic. At home, Ashley is a proud parent to three incredible kids - Russell, Evie, and Alex - and loving wife to her husband, Eric.

When she's not rocking it at work, you’ll likely find her immersed in all kinds of storytelling: whether it's crafting tales of her own, completing a radical quest in a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, or dominating in her latest Marvel Rivals showdown.

A true bookworm at heart, she's currently all about horror, mystery, and thrillers. When she isn't reading, she's probably watching her current favorite movie, Thunderbolts (we will pretend it ISN'T because of her total obsession with Bucky Barnes), and serving as a member of the Florence Renaissance Faire Roundtable!

Our "Meet Medplus" feature this week is the one and only, Sandra Mann!

If you have been a patient at Medplus in the past twenty years, there's a chance you had the privilege of encountering our in house "Superstar".

Whether she’s taking vitals, assisting providers, or just making patients smile, Sandra brings compassion and dedication to everything she does - both at the clinic and in her every day endeavors!

As an avid lover of hiking and backpacking, she always seems to have at least one foot in the forest at all times. When she isn't soaking up the outdoors, she spends most of her free time reading as well as junk - journaling, scrapbooking, and crafting anything and everything!

Additionally, she loves spending time with her husband, William, her kids, and her plethora of happy grandkids! When asked if she wants to let the public know anything important about Medplus, she wanted it to be known that she definitely would be retiring soon (we hope this is a lie).

For this week's Medplus Monday, we want to feature one of our caring providers, Jennifer Grutzik!

Since joining the Medplus family in 2016, Jen has embraced each day with exciting new cases and growing, lasting friendships with her coworkers. She loves that the clinic is family and veteran-owned as it allows every patient interaction to remain a top priority while providing attentive care!

When she's not practicing with us, Jen enjoys spending her summers with her husband, Dustin, and their three kids—Levi, Ellie, and Lincoln—on their family-owned cranberry farm in Wisconsin. She’s passionate about exploring new destinations, cooking alongside her husband, and diving deep into her family history through genealogy research.

A few fun facts about Jen: she has a surprising love for mayonnaise, somehow manages to sell Christmas trees in Florida each year, and owns a cat who, while nameless, responds affectionately to “Vomit.”

For this week's MedPlus Monday, meet one of our awesome new office receptionists, Hannah! Hannah moved here from Florida and later met her now husband, Cameron, before she found her way to us. She is used to the craziness of our clinic family as she herself comes from a family of 6 sisters (shout out to her singular brother)!

When asked what her favorite memory from working here was so far, she laughed as she recalled her first day! She definitely had to introduce herself to everyone as her boss totally forgot to (Shout out to Emily haha!) but thankfully, everyone was so nice.

She was also shocked at just how BIG our clinic is with a full kitchen, 6 bathrooms, a laundry room, and a doctor's lounge with couches and recliners hidden inside!

When Hannah isn't spending time with us at the clinic, she is a volunteer firefighter with Center Star Fire/Rescue, is working on her new novel, and watching health dramas on tv like "Grey's Anatomy," "The Good Doctor", and "911"! She also loves cuddling and spending quality time with her three furbabies Bailey, Zelda, and Fatman.

Starting NOON today, temps will climb fast — it’s going to feel like opening the oven and forgetting your face was in the way.

Here’s how to stay safe (and not crispy):
• 💧 Drink water — not just sweet tea or energy drinks
• 🧊 Find A/C or shade — if your shadow is sweating, go inside
• 🐾 Pets wear fur coats all summer — bring them in
• 👵 Check on elderly neighbors
• 🚗 No people or pets in parked cars — even for ‘just a second’
