🏀 A huge THANK YOU to Emergency Care of Floresville, Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc., Texas Stampede Basketball , and City of Floresville for allowing our pediatric team to take part in the 3rd Annual Basketball Skills & Drills Clinic!

Dr. Ana Mancuso, Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Juan Hilario, and our pediatric staff had a blast coaching and cheering on these amazing young athletes. We’re proud to support events that keep our community’s kids active, healthy, and having fun!

☀️ July is UV Awareness Month ☀️
At Connally Memorial Medical Center, we’re reminding our community that protecting your skin from the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays is crucial year round, especially during the hot summer months.

🧴 Here are a few easy ways to protect yourself and your loved ones:

Wear broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher

Reapply every 2 hours, or after swimming or sweating

Seek shade during peak sun hours (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)

Wear protective clothing, hats, and sunglasses

Avoid tanning beds

👩‍⚕️ UV radiation can lead to serious health issues like premature aging, eye damage, and skin cancer, including melanoma. Early prevention and awareness save lives.

Let’s work together to stay safe and sun-smart this summer!

To our incredible Connally Memorial Medical Center team members and their families, thank you for your generous and compassionate donations to support the Central Texas flood victims. Your kindness is a reflection of the heart and spirit of CMMC.
This meaningful effort was made possible through the collaboration of the San Antonio Food Bank, San Antonio Interfaith Alliance, STMA Wholesale, and the Ismaili Council. We are especially grateful to the San Antonio Food Bank for providing safe and organized storage for the donated items. A special thank you to Chaplain Birdie Shawker for bringing this initiative to CMMC and reminding us that service to others is one of the highest forms of care.
We also ask that you keep several of our CMMC team members in your thoughts and prayers as they are being deployed to the affected areas through their own organizations to assist with recovery efforts. Their courage and dedication continue to inspire us all.

At Connally Memorial, we began our Independence Day celebration with a special prayer service led by Chaplain Birdie and Chaplain Al; lifting up gratitude for our nation, our freedoms, and the people who serve our community every day.
Afterward, we gathered for a shared lunch, laughter, and time together as one team. Thank you to our amazing cafe' staff who so kindly prepared our celebratory meals today.

🍵 Tea for the Soul at Connally Memorial 🕊️

Today, our nurses were treated to a moment of peace and reflection during our Tea for the Soul gathering, lovingly hosted by our Chaplain, Jennifer "Birdie" Shawker.

With a selection of soothing teas and heartfelt conversation, Chaplain Birdie shared valuable ethics resources, including real life examples of when an ethics consultation may be helpful in a hospital setting.

This event is part of our ongoing commitment to support the emotional and ethical wellbeing of our caregivers, recognizing that compassion and clarity are essential to excellent patient care. 💙
