Since he was in medical school, Dr. Richard has volunteered his time and expertise and traveled to underdeveloped countries in Asia and Africa to teach. He works with the Cure Blindess Project to train Opthalmologists into Oculoplastic surgeons. Dr. Richard describes his trips as some of the hardest times in his life yet the most rewarding.
