Our Story

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine Department of Community Service (DOCS), a medical student run organization, hosts an annual South Dade Health Fair. Although the date for this year is tentative due to the pandemic, we will continue to use our FB page to share educational content in the meantime. University of Miami doctors and medical students work with Branches Florida City providing FREE health screening and preventative health care services. These services will be provided free of charge without regard to income level or immigration status. Everyone is welcome! Screening services include: - Pap smears - Breast cancer screenings - Vision and glaucoma screenings - Dental screenings - Skin cancer screenings - Male screening exams - HIV testing - Cholesterol & diabetes screenings - Body mass index calculations - Mental health & dementia screenings - Child and adult health education Take advantage of this opportunity to get free health screenings! For anyone needing special assistance, please make arrangements prior to the fair by pre-registering your special needs at least 1 week beforehand by calling (305) 243-4898 or emailing docs@med.miami.edu.
