We got to video chat with Dawsons surgeon today 2/15/24.

We’re headed to Orlando yet again, March 11th he will undergo surgery to reconnect stuff inside and to come off his bag!!! 🥺🙌🙏🙌🙏🙌🙏🥺 Is it excited to lose his bag? Yes & No. he’s nervous what life is going to be like without his colon and without his bag! But excited to have that awful bag removed so he can go on with a semi normal life ! 🥺💜 We’ve waited so long for this moment! We’re praying to God this is his last surgery, even though life without a colon is going to be a little different for him, at least he won’t have this bag! My mommy heart couldn’t be more excited , over joyed , and happy !! I can’t wait to watch my baby go back to his everyday life and doing things he loves!!

Everyone keep praying for him and pray this surgery goes well and that he continues to heal once we’re back home!

Here’s to our last Orlando trip for surgeries / appointments/ & procedures!!! 💕🙏

From Dawson’s Mom:
2/1/2024 At the Doctor’s for test.
After over an hour of test, crying , begging etc…. Dawson got the green light to come off his bag!!!!! We will return in a few months for our last Orlando trip hopefully to the children’s hospital to remove his ostomy bag!!!!

I watched him cry today and try to give up while he did his test and he fought through it all … 🥺💕

January 8, 2024
Little man is out of surgery; he did great. However , he wasn’t able to come off his ostmy bag like we was all thinking … maybe in 4-6 weeks he can! His colon is compeltely removed though. And the surgeon said he did great 💜

First and for most … my hearts full ! My baby along with myself couldn’t be more thankful for the love of the people that showed up and was there - truly there for us! My sister left yesterday only to get 45 mins up the road and came back bc she didn’t wanna leave us. 🥹

Dawson is headed home!!!!! Things didn’t go as we had thought or planned - he didn’t come off the bag… instead he actually got a new stoma 🥹 one that’s a little more challenging! But ; through the tears and pain- he did it. His colon is completely removed . He still has some pain, actually a lot of pain. But he’s dealing the best he can! He will come back to Orlando again in 3-6 weeks for another procedure and then at the start of summer he will start coming off the bag. 🤞🙏

Y’all keep my little guy in your thoughts and prayers daily! He’s got to absolutely be one of the strongest kids I know !🫶

From Dawson’s Mom:

Well, I kinda already knew the day was going to come … but when ya hear the confirmation.. it hits a little different .
Dawsons colon has offically completely shut down! There is no more trying to save it , no more nothing . Jan 8th he’ll once again be admitted into Orlando & they’re going to fully remove his colon. I have a list of people on fb, my text and snap that’s left open - even on delivered… I promise it’s nothing personal.. I’m still trying to gather my thoughts , and still trying to be a strong mom infront of my kiddo ! Sure I laugh cut up and do what I can - but deep down I’m not okay, we’re not okay over here . I’m doing my best as a mother to hold together and maintain not just Dawson but a teenager who doesn’t understand all of this either ! I’m super sorry if anyone thinks I am ignoring them or such , but I’m truly not !

Just keep Dawson in your prayers & thoughts as the holidays come up and he’s dreading this just as anyone else !

Dawson can eat until 1pm then they are gonna start everything this evening.

Yall keep Dawson in your Prayers please . Dawson & his Mom were just told he has to have that NG tube again, and as many know that was awful and terrifying and painful for him last time and he is on clear liquid diet until tomorrow evening 🥹 He isn’t happy and is a nervous wreck so we could use all the positive vibes. 💕🙏 . Dawson is in room 3001 at Orlando Arnold Palmer Hospital.

Dawson would like little gifts - we rushed so bad he brought his laptop and phone but forgot their chargers … if someone could send money for his mom to get him a charger or something he’d greatly appreciate it. He keeps whining bc he can’t use his laptop or phone. And so he doesn’t have anything to do and he’s a nervous wreck.
