This is our first Health Matters Tuesday of 2026, we’re talking about cervical cancer.

January is Cervical Health Awareness Month. Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, yet over 14,000 women in the U.S. are diagnosed each year.

Black women are 40% more likely to die from cervical cancer due to later diagnosis and barriers to care. Pap smears save lives by catching changes early.

If it’s been a while since your last Pap smear, this is your sign. Prevention starts with one appointment.
