Hope 4 Dyslexics

Hope 4 Dyslexics As a Dyslexia Therapist, I work privately with students, utilizing a specialized phonics program. Time is of the essence!

As a fellow dyslexic, and now the mother of my own dyslexic child, I feel a calling to inspire children who suffer as I did. I want to be an inspiration to other dyslexics as my dyslexia teacher, Dr. Karen Vickery, was to me. Since I am dyslexic myself, I understand your child's frustration and can empathize with them, and hope that through me, they can see that their problem can be solved. I can't imagine a more rewarding career than to teach others the skills that have allowed me to graduate from high school, to graduate with honors from the University of Texas, to complete graduate school, and to teach other children the very curriculum that allowed to advance in my educational career. My goal is to find a group of dedicated students that could benefit from Multiple Teaching Approach (MTA) in order to allow them the skills necessary to be successful in their educational endeavors. MTA requires perseverance and hard work and a commitment from the parents of dyslexics to ensure the regular daily attendance required by the program in order to make it achievable for the student. The earlier a discrepancy is detected by parents or teacher the earlier help can begin. Whether or not testing or diagnosis has been conducted, I am available to help you answer the questions you might have on how to move forward. To avoid further self esteem issue, which could mean all the difference in the world for your child, please know I'm available to answer any questions you might have moving forward.

The next cohort group of Restoring Phonics, the new curriculum for specialized dyslexia therapists is open for enrollment NOW and is a yearlong commitment with completion on July 27th 2025. ****The enrollment window will close on Aug 4, 2024 to allow us time to prep and arrange for materials to be sent to you.

Investment: There is an enrollment fee of $200 which will hold your place in the program. Payments for the course can be paid out monthly starting August 2024 with the last payment being July 2025. Or arrangements can be made to pay bi-annually or all up front.

At the end of your 12-month training and the completion of 200 teaching hours a certificate will be released to you awarding you the title of Restoring Phonics Dyslexia Therapist.

Your Curriculum materials: Your curriculum booklets for therapy will be delivered to you within the first 6 weeks of the course. Within your booklets you will receive a complete set of 4 therapist manuals, 4 student manuals, decks, fluency manuals, guidance materials, parent communications, progress monitoring, and more! This is yours to keep through the course and they are yours for your new career path!

Course: The course is fully virtual, start to finish, with no in-person meet ups, in-person classes, or travel time.
Restoring Phonics is DESIGNED, start-to-finish, just like a personal therapy session with a slow deliberate start, but a build up as you being working with students to increase your 200 teaching hour requirement.
The beginning of the course is 2 to 3 hours a week listening to podcasts, reading through course materials and familiarizing yourself with lingo, why and how we combat the struggles dyslexics face which then transitions into practical application with students, as you build your teaching hours.

THE GOOD NEWS…You will not be bogged down with busywork or lengthy papers to write, but will instead give you the opportunity to work hands-on transforming the lives of your students!

Finally, but most importantly, we will schedule WEEKLY meetings for us to connect as a cohort group (not to exceed 60 minutes via zoom) to discuss a realm of topics needed to equip you on how to talk to parents needing help and answers on how to build your own private practice.

Your attendance and course hours are acquired by your presence at these meetings, requiring a 75% attendance goal. During the heart of the program you will be sent recorded instructions on how best to teach certain lessons and have access to both Martha and Felicia to help navigate through your therapy hours.

Upon graduating the yearlong course, you will RECEIVE certification as a dyslexia therapist in RESTORING PHONICS which recognizes your course and therapy hours so you can start your private practice and begin your life as a Self-employed Dyslexia Therapist.
