YOU ARE NOT ALONE..
I am normally pretty positive and have a positive outlook on life.
I could not figure out why I have been feeling so down. I have an amazing husband, children, career and friends. So why the heck am I feeling this way?
You see I have been consuming too much social media and listening to the chaos that has been going on in the world. This has brought a sense of fear, hopelessness and a what's the point attitude.
One morning after I got out of the shower I was crying and I prayed for God to reveal to me what I needed to change in my life.
In my head I heard "GET OUT OF THE WORLD AND GET INTO THE WORD." Wow.
Now I have grown up being taught about God, but I have never really read the bible. So I started reading a paragraph in the am instead of watching social media videos.
If your not spiritual, please don't think I am trying to shove religion in your face. I am not, I am simply telling you what I have been doing.
So the other morning I am reading Mathew 6:22
Jesus says:
The lamp of my body is the eye. If they're for your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness?
What I took from this is that what we watch and read can either fill us with light or it can fill us with darkness aka sadness | hopelessness | what's the point...
Listen you may be thinking DUHHHH, But it can be easy to get out of your healthy routines. I have struggled with routines my whole life.
So I am making changes in my everyday life and I already feel the dark cloud lifting.
Maybe some of these things can help you feel better too.
1. Reading and watching things that uplift you.
2. Exercise ( walking, hiking in nature, workout classes at my local gym)
3. Listening to uplifting music.
4. Meditating
5. Talking to someone when feeling discouraged
6. Adding essential oils back into my everyday life
(inhaling citrus oils are Uplifting)
7. Grounding myself my taking my shoes off and walking barefoot in the grass.
