She’s not wrong... 😅
Too much screen time—especially before bed—can affect more than your eyesight.

💡 Excessive phone use = less melatonin, more tossing and turning. Blue light from phones tricks your brain into thinking it’s daytime, disrupting your sleep cycle and, over time, even impacting brain health and memory.

😴 Your brain (and body) need real rest, not just scrolling time.
Try unplugging 1–2 hours before bed—it’s one of the simplest ways to improve sleep quality!

While CPAP is a common treatment, it's not the only option—especially if you're also struggling with TMJ pain, clenching, or jaw discomfort.

💡 Appliance Therapy is a non-invasive alternative using a custom oral orthotic device that:
✔️ Repositions the jaw to open the airway
✔️ Improves sleep quality
✔️ Reduces grinding, clenching & headaches
✔️ Alleviates TMJ-related pain

Unlike CPAP, it’s quiet, compact, portable, and comfortable—and it can address both TMJ and airway issues at the same time.

💬 Curious if an oral appliance is right for you?

Your jaw shouldn’t click, lock, or hurt when you eat, talk, or yawn.
But so many people live with those symptoms every day — thinking it’s “normal” or that nothing can be done.

TMJ is one of the most-used joints in your body. When it’s out of balance, it doesn’t just affect your jaw — it can trigger headaches, facial pain, ear symptoms, and more.

The good news?
👉 You don’t have to live with the discomfort.
We specialize in identifying the root causes of TMJ disorder and building personalized treatment plans that help you feel like yourself again.

📞Call 972-538-3777 to chat about your symptoms and get scheduled for a consultation exam.
Let’s take the first step toward relief — together. 🥰

It’s not just a catchy quote — it’s the truth. And here’s why ⬇️

Dentists are on the front lines when it comes to identifying signs of poor sleep and sleep-related breathing disorders (SRBD). Things like tooth wear from grinding, a narrow palate, enlarged tonsils, or a small airway often show up first in the mouth — long before a diagnosis is made.

The American Dental Association now encourages all dentists to screen for sleep-related breathing disorders in both adults and children.
Why? Because untreated sleep issues can contribute to:
– Daytime fatigue
– Behavioral challenges in kids
– TMJ dysfunction
– Cardiovascular problems
– And even delayed growth and development

At our practice, we take sleep seriously. Because sleep isn't a luxury — it's foundational to every aspect of your health.

If your dentist isn’t asking about your sleep... we think they should be. If you're a dentist and would like to know more about why you should ask about sleep-- send us a DM to get a Lunch & Learn set up. 📲

Just because it’s common… doesn’t mean it’s normal.
Clicking jaws, morning headaches, chewing on one side, or avoiding hard foods might seem like everyday quirks — but they could actually be signs of Disorder.

Your jaw is one of the most used (and most misunderstood) joints in your body. When something’s off, it can affect everything from sleep to focus to mood.

🛑 Don’t ignore the red flags.

Relying on caffeine to “push through” might feel normal, but too much of it can actually make things worse—especially if you’re already dealing with poor sleep or underlying health issues.

🔍 Here's what too much caffeine can lead to:
– Anxiety
– Insomnia
– Increased heart rate
– Digestive issues
– Muscle twitching
– Frequent urination + dehydration
– Withdrawal symptoms (yes, that headache is real)

If you’re always tired, there’s a good chance caffeine isn’t the cure. TMJ dysfunction, teeth grinding, or sleep-disordered breathing might be the real cause of your fatigue.

💤 We help patients get off the caffeine rollercoaster by addressing the root cause of poor sleep—naturally. Let’s get to the bottom of your exhaustion.

📞 Book a consultation today. Your nervous system will thank you.

If you’ve been relying on tissues like a fashion accessory… you might have more in common with Mr. Bean than you think.

Chronic nasal congestion is very common, and it’s not always just allergies.
Here are a few common causes:
🔸 Allergies (seasonal or environmental)
🔸 Sinus infections
🔸 Deviated septum
🔸 Nasal polyps
🔸 Dry air or irritants
🔸 Structural issues like enlarged turbinates
🔸 Sleep apnea

If you can’t breathe through your nose, your body will default to mouth breathing — which can lead to:
😮‍💨 TMJ pain
😴 Poor sleep quality
💤 Daytime fatigue
👄 Even facial changes

At TMJ & Sleep Therapy Centre of North Texas, we evaluate nasal breathing and airway function as part of every patient’s care — because breathing right truly changes everything.

Call us today to schedule an evaluation! Health is wealth.
