The bad news is that red berry cedar (juniper) has been creeping up the past few weeks. Once it comes down, it is Mountain Cedar season. You don’t have to suffer year after year, please come see us!

It has been a decade since the LEAP trial changed how we feed peanuts to our infants. The rate of peanut allergies in children ages 0 to 3 fell by more than 27% after guidance for high-risk kids was first issued in 2015, and by more than 40% after the recommendations were expanded in 2017.

For me as an Allergist, the chance to intervene in the natural history of peanut allergy by starting OIT early in babies and toddlers has been one of the most rewarding parts of my mid-career!

September 28th is Penicillin Allergy Day- in honor of the day that Alexander Fleming, a Scottish biologist, is credited with the accidental discovery of penicillin in 1928.

Over 90% of patients who carry a penicillin drug allergy label are not allergic once they are tested. Either because they outgrew the allergy or because their baseline reaction was due to something else, like the infection they were being treated for.

We have testing for Penicillin Allergy so don’t wait, find out if you are safe to take penicillin again!
