My Why
My passion for bodywork stems from my own injuries. As cliche as it sounds, the day I tore my ACL changed the entire direction of my life. I was suppose to travel for 5 years either in the woods hiking or out of the country backpacking. The injury happened right before I even got started on my travel dreams and I felt very lost in life. The one thing I enjoyed through the whole process was going to physical therapy. I loved learning all about the body and how everything connects. I also learned that most of the pain I had been in from athletics wasnโt normal. From this point on, I have dedicated myself to helping people heal their bodies of pain, encouraging their wellness journey, and providing knowledge to better take care of themselves.
My biology degree from Georgia Tech, assisted stretching and muscle testing apprenticeship and performance as an athlete allows me to bring an in-depth understanding of neuromuscular work that goes beyond a massage therapist license. I see my clients as more than just a muscular system poster on the wall. I see their bodies in motion living in their daily lives. A body in pain is phenomenal at compensating. Unfortunately, the initial injury and compensation patterns create a tremendous amount of dysfunction. I created Encourage Wellness and Performance to expand upon my mission to help people live a pain free life.
