Emma • Age 7 • Pelahatchie, MS

Emma has been a patient of Children’s of Mississippi since birth. Her parents were shocked to learn that Emma was born with several serious conditions including a heart defect and scoliosis.

Emma has had multiple surgeries and numerous stays at the hospital. “She knows the clinic locations and always loves talking to everyone she meets,” said Emma’s mother, Melinda. “She has even started ‘helping’ with her labs and knows all the steps.”

Today, she is a happy 7-year-old who loves gymnastics and playing with Barbie™ dolls. Even at a young age, she wants to help other kids with heart conditions like hers. 🌈
